This, specially when you see security issues like the recent Next.js middleware auth bypass where Vercel deployments were automatically protected while many self-hosted deployments were exposed for a while. It creates a subtle vendor-lock risk around relying on framework behavior that’s optimized first for Vercel’s infra 🫠🫠. I still love what vercel is doing, and we are a vercel consumer for some of our services
