JUST IN: @UofCalifornia has shelled out an estimated $29 million to handle protests over the Israel-Hamas war from March to June -- 90% of it for policing and other security. @UCLA tops list with $10 million spent. https://t.co/xpbf02CTK7

Now in @OnLaborBlog, how the U. of Caliornia's TRO against the UAW strike is serious & destructive judicial overreach. This piece focuses on the end run around the CA labor board's "exclusive jurisdiction" over unfair labor practice (ULP) determinations. https://t.co/6bEUDTh2xD

[UCLA Faculty Association @uclafa]

[1.2] In doing so, #UCLA interfered with faculty’s protected right to advocate and organize regarding matters that impact workplace safety (i.e. protecting students, graduate workers, faculty colleagues, and staff who exercised their right to protest).

[UCLA Faculty Association @uclafa]

[1.1] #UCLA then called on law enforcement to forcibly remove and arrest #UCLAFA members, other faculty, and students between 4/30-5/1.

[UCLA Faculty Association @uclafa]

[1] #UCLA allowed anti-Palestinian counter-protestors to assault #UCLAFA members and other faculty alongside our students.

[UCLA Faculty Association @uclafa]

In the charge, the #UCLAFA details two ways in which #UCLA interfered with its members’ rights under HEERA (Higher Education Employment Relations Act).

[UCLA Faculty Association @uclafa]

The #UCLAFA is the fourth organization to file a ULP against the UC in the wake of its actions at #UCLA in late April and early May.

Making the UC a better place to work makes California a better place to live for everyone. That’s why I’m rooting for @UPTECWA and so should you! Show them some love and #solidarity.

[UCLA Faculty Association @uclafa]

Join @uaw4811 and @UCAFT_UCLA at a rally today at 11am at the Luskin Conference Center. We'll be there too. Labor rights matter. We have a better UC to win.

[UCLA Faculty Association @uclafa]

Last week, UC circumvented acceptable labor dispute practices to pause the @uaw_4811 strike. Ongoing securitization of campus sends a message to faculty: your employer sets the limit for what you protest and who you associate with. We reject this limit. https://t.co/jdtMUvGAL4

[UCLA Faculty Association @uclafa]

On June 3rd, the # UCLAFA filed ULP charges against the UC to vindicate faculty rights to protest, organize, and exercise academic freedom.

[UCLA Faculty Association @uclafa]

This is terrifying, violent behavior. Campuses are not police states. @UCLA stop militarizing our workplace, cease and desist from using police violence against students and employees.

One more arrest at the UCLA Pro Palestine protest

[UCLA Faculty Association @uclafa]

Despite recent troubling actions by the UC which undermine the legal rights of public employees, PERB remains the right avenue for us to defend the safety and integrity of our workplaces.

@UCLALaborSd is mourning the loss of civil/labor rights icon, the Rev James Lawson Jr. For over 20 years Rev Lawson taught/ trained thousands of our students in his practice of Revolutionary Non-Violence. His legacy will live on in our teaching & organizing!

Rest in Power Rev✊🏽

There are many terrible things about adjuncting but nobody told me what “are you teaching here next year? I want to take more classes with you” was gonna feel like. Especially when the answer is “I don’t know”
