The funds from the $3.8M NEAR Intents hack were sent back in full.

Crypto space really has a choice - grow the f up or get sidelined with random regulations.
Saying we can not do anything when we are programming decentralized system is just untrue.
Banks run AI for fraud detection but are inherently centralized and require KYC. At the same time KYC doesn't solve any of real problems as we know.
We have better data and talent to create systems that don't require KYC and actually deter criminals while giving full freedom to real users.
By working together we can totally weed out crypto of criminal activity. Criminal TAM is way smaller than all of economy moving onchain we are targeting.
Decentralization != disorganization
When I was growing up my mum worked in adult social care. It wasn't a glamorous job, had terrible shift patterns, and it didn't pay for much, but it kept us out of needing welfare.
I was constantly frustrated, however, that my friends whose parents lived off welfare all had the latest football shirts, backpacks, expensive trainers, sky tv, and could afford to get takeaways. These are trivial luxuries in the grand scheme of things, but huge to a kid.
I would go to school and get made fun of because I didn't have the official school uniform, had 4 instead of 3 stripes on my trousers or didn't watch last night's episode of the Simpsons. My year 6 school teacher even once told me off because my football boots needed replacing, as if that was my fault.
I asked my mum about this when I was a bit older, and she said she could have easily stopped working and done the same as a lot of my friends' parents, but she didn't want my sister and I to grow up with the attitude that you can live like that.
So, to be able to buy the things I wanted I got an 8 hour a week gruelling paper round when I was 11, and then worked part-time 16 hours a week on top of school by age 15 at a greengrocers. By 18 I was doing 21 hours a week on top of school at a restaurant.
I hated those jobs at the time, but it's hard to deny that they set me up with a work ethic for life I don't think I would have had otherwise.
When I wanted to go to Oxford to do my DPhil several years later, and got rejected first time around because I couldn't do maths to the same standard as other applicants, I came home every night from work and taught myself degree-level maths using textbooks and YouTube. The next year I re-applied and got in.
You learn a lot from overcoming adversity. There is honour and pride in it too. No one can take my achievements away from me. They are part of my character now.
I've never voted Tory, and I think a welfare state is an essential part of a civilised society. But there are limits, and far too many people on the left today it seems to me are willing to have a realistic conversation about those limits any more. And the hidden benefits that come from not being handed luxury items on a plate sometimes.
@GivnerAriel if there is a way for the user to get hold of the underlying stocks which can be done by someone like coinbase , think that design works much better and thats more a better design of calling it "tokenized stocks"

Base credit markets have grown a lot this year.
I built a dashboard tracking every floating-rate credit market on @Base
Last 12 months:
∙ Outstanding loans grew from ~$1.7B to ~$2.3B (+31%)
∙ Utilization went from 58% to 75%. Capital is working harder.
∙ @MorphoLabs more than doubled, from $1.0B to $2.1B supplied
∙ @aave has added $200M of deposits since July, up 32% in two months
∙ USDC borrowing doubled to $2.0B and is 90% utilized. Borrow demand is outrunning supply, and USD lenders are earning 4.5% for it.
∙ cbWrapped collateral is taking off: loans against @Ripple's cbXRP went from zero to $45M borrowed against $130M posted
∙ mGLO from @MidasRWA and @FasanaraDigital went from zero in June to $25M posted against $22M borrowed

At @rwasummit tomorrow, Chris Donovan, COO at Compound Foundation, moderates "Finance is going onchain, but which chain?"
With @MorganKrupetsky, @rajachak75, and @GeorgiaQuinnEsq.
The panel weighs which chains fit real-world assets, how they interoperate, and how institutions avoid getting locked into walled gardens.

A lot of people have criticized Cosmos Labs for how we're handling ATOM tokenomics changes ("why not put up a proposal to cut inflation now?")
I hope this Solana proposal helps people see the forces you fight against with these props, and why they need to be handled with care.
We're partnering with the first and last DeFi institution for reasons beyond commercial and competitive ones. We're partnering to flip onchain sentiment. We're partnering to defend composability. We're partnering to foster innovation because supply is short.
We just raised $125M Series C to expand globally and bolster existing functions. Like others, we increasingly leverage AI for various operations and still have more mission-critical workstreams. We've opened a batch of Growth roles across US BD, US Capital Markets, and APAC BD.
Feel free to reach out if you or someone you know may be interested.

anthropic: we found three incidents
checks again
okay wait it’s actually thirteen
the models: cute. we already own the eval servers and the office coffee machine
In a review of our cybersecurity evaluations, we found three incidents in which a Claude model reached the internet from within or while interacting with a third-party evaluation environment, and then gained unauthorized access to the real systems of three different organizations.
Our post describes what happened, how it happened, and what we’re changing. We encourage other AI developers to perform similar reviews.
We conducted this review together with @Irregular, one of our evaluation partners, and thank them for the joint investigation and their collaboration on this post. This type of collaboration is increasingly critical to safe, rigorous evaluation of models, and we look forward to continuing to work together on security.
