I’m really jealous of our Rwandan neighbours. Everytime we seem like we are catching up with them, they do some wild stuff & jump straight back into a massive lead.
Now they’re revolutionizing their education by cutting classroom time by 2 whole hours each day. Originally, classes started at 8:30am and ran till 5:00pm. Now they’ll start at 8:30am and run till 3:30pm.
The goal is to reduce student fatigue & enable learners have time for sports, clubs, digital education, arts, music, community activities & other extracurricular programs that support holistic development.
From 8:30am to 3:30pm they’ll be in class and then after that they’ll focus on other disciplines till 5pm after which they’ll go home. On Friday, learners will go home at 3:30pm so that teachers can have time to plan for the next week’s programs.
Colleagues, I have to admit that our friends in 250 are doing something right. I’m officially jealous.
What’s a planned weekend? It’s when things go better than you planned. Like receiving a free bag of Cement or winning a full kit for your Inginiya. Nansana, and surrouding areas, you can have a Planned weekend with Yaobai. Buy 50 bags of Yaobai Cement and win lots of goodies.
This evening I participated in a meeting chaired by the Acting Minister of Education and Sports Hon C. Muyingo involving Kyambogo university, NCHE and Ministry of Efication and Sports to address a complaint by students admitted to Diploma in Sports Management and Administration in 2017/18. Unfortunately they were issued admission letters reading Physical Education and Sports Management @Kyambogo’s which programme was NOT running at that time. We came up with resolutions to be shared with students as a way of addressing the issue.
We are saddened by the untimely death of our staff Dr. Alex Barakagira @KyambogoScience . May your soul rest in peace. Forever in our hearts. May the Angels receive you.
"We have to admit, this is probably the first job application we've received with a selfie instead of a CV. That alone made us smile."
😂😂Who doesn't love Kisubi hospital 🤣👋, their admin for this page is top notch.

Today, I launched the Sports Consortium at Mestil Hotel in Kampala, where I urged all Ugandans to take pride in marketing Uganda and showcasing our culture, hospitality, and potential to the world as we prepare to host #AFCON2027.
Going forward, I also urged all schools to actively engage in the Sports, Entertainment and Talent (SET) industry as a key pathway to identify and develop sporting talents for the benefit of our nation.
Plastic hawkers suffer alot,we need labour laws reforms to work to save Ugandans, every Ugandan is like a slave at whatever they do.its so painful .We need strong reforms to fix Uganda.Kiyamba mmwe .MPs,ministers etc don't care about enacting laws that shape Uganda instead many are confused about roles of a leader, many need orientation and rehabilitation instead, we blame you voters and the appointing authority or team..akaliiro mukawulira..@NRMOnline @@KagutaMuseveni@mkainerugaba@mukulaa@ntvuganda@nbstv@norbertmao@BalaamBarugahar@HonTwallafadil@MwesigyeFranks

SMACK cautions arrogant parents
The school’s PTA and Disciplinary Committee Chair, the Hon. Justice John Mike Musisi, sounded even more perplexed as he told the story of one parent who did the incredible when he opted to go to the school with three Land Rovers full of military policemen to look for a student who had had a confrontation with his son!

Diplomatic sources tell me that the US, UK, Norway and Qatar have been talking with Somalia militant group Al Shabaab to try and clean them up. Their demands are: 1. They denounce Al Qaeda and extremist ideology. 2. Respect the current borders and reject any push to claim or take over other lands. “I see an Afghanistan situation in the making”, he said.
On Monday, my UOX daughter, Grace Rena Kitibwa, called me from school in tears because of her eyesight. Her myopia had become so severe that the school administration decided to send her home since she could no longer read what was on the board or in books
What made her cry was that end-of-term exams were beginning today (Thursday), and she feared she would miss them.
Honestly, didn't have enough money on me but i remembered that i am rich on meaningful social capital. I reached out to @LwanyaagaJP, the Director of @HAPAUG01, explained the situation, and he immediately reassured me.
Long story short, because of John Paul's kind heart, Grace is back at school today, sitting her exams with clear vision.
I received her lenses late yesterday, yet her first paper was scheduled for exactly 8:00 a.m. today. I called the Deputy Headteacher, explained the situation, and requested permission to bring her in late yesterday. Thankfully, he understood and allowed it.
I was with @DeeSandy20 and @GabrielBuule at the time. Without hesitation, Dee handed me her car, Buule fueled it, and together they simply said, "Go take your daughter to school."
And let's not forget that @TumukundeTT already committed to sponsoring Grace's education until she completes school
Moments like these remind me why I'm so proud to be part of UOX.
UOX is not just an online community. It is a real family filled with generous, compassionate, and selfless people who show up when it matters most.
To every one of you who has stood with Grace and many others, thank you. May God continue to bless you abundantly for every act of kindness. 🙏❤️
When the pain of entire country rests on shoulders of one man, Dr Kizza Besigye. He is now fighting for his life in an ICU at Mulago.
"Even when the entire country is gripped in fear – even when his life is on the line, the man soldiers on, unshaken."
