@ThisIsIreland3 Stunning. Such a tragedy that Uggool Beach has been locked away from the Irish public since 1989 by illegal costal fencing on the foreshore.

The Co. Mayo coastline has some of the most stunning landscapes Ireland has to offer, nowhere more so than the remote Silver Strand beach. It is difficult to capture the raw untouched beauty of this location 🌊💚

[Wicklow County Council @wicklowcoco]

Wicklow County Council is thrilled to announce the successful purchase of a stunning 21-acre beachfront parcel at Magheramore! This beautiful land, known for its breathtaking views of the Irish Sea and rich history, will ensure continued public access to one of our beloved coastal gems.

Cllr Paul O’Brien expressed the excitement, highlighting the beach’s association with surfing, filming, and community events like the “Strip & Dip” for cancer research.

With this acquisition, we are taking a significant step towards protecting our Special Area of Conservation and ensuring future generations can enjoy the natural beauty of Magheramore Beach.

A big thank you to everyone who supported this effort! Let’s keep enjoying and preserving this piece of paradise!
