@ETrygstad@EverythingMNUFC Darwin Quintero. Former MNUFC player. 5'5". Between 141-146 lbs. Info from Google's AI. My point is that players of that size in top level soccer are not hard to find. A tertiary reason that soccer is world popular is that size is less of a factor than in other sports.
@DavidASterling@CataPaul2 Well, the club itself doesn't agree with you because it honored the 2011 Stars championship win with a special day and player reunion. And to you, I sing: "The team that nobody wanted, the team that nobody wanted, the team that nobody wanted, and now we've won the cup!"
@DavidASterling@CataPaul2 The Stars are a vital part of the history of MNUFC, and many aspects of the club and its fandom traditions stem from MNUFC's time as the NSC Minnesota Stars and Minnesota Stars FC. It would be a shame to round file the club's beginnings. 5/5
@DavidASterling@CataPaul2 Does a club changing it's crest or team colors denote a new identity? Does a change in ownership or gaffer mean a new founding? "Identity" seems like a nebulous standard to apply to a clubs history.
@DavidASterling@CataPaul2 So, if a team changes it's name, it becomes a different team? So, FC Dallas wasn't founded until 2004 because they called themselves the Burn before then? And Sporting KC was founded in 2010 because they were the Wiz/Wizards from 1995 to then? 1/2
@DavidASterling@CataPaul2 technically, the current club was formed before the 2010 season. However, when the NSC MN Stars were formed, there was carryover in players, coaches, front office personnel and venue from the Thunder with no missed season. So, legally, 2010. But, practically, 1990. 2/2
@DavidASterling@CataPaul2 While the Thunder is the origin of MNUFC, they officially folded after the 2009 season. The NSC created the Stars for the 2010 season. The NASL took ownership of the club before the 2011 season and sold it to Dr. McGuire at the end of 2012, changing the club name in 2013. So, 1/2
@dunord@MNUFC Correction: This year, Kmet was loaned by MNUFC to Slovak Nike Liga club DAC Dunajska Streda. The loan is to June 30th, 2026, with option to buy. His MNUFC contract expires on December 31st, 2026.
@Tyler735_MNUFC@MNUFC Just to cover another media option, all three matches will be broadcast live on WFTC 29, also known as FOX 9+. In case you would want to DVR them.

@AlexWBA23@TBraunTHG@3four3 Yeah...About that "won't move" stuff: https://t.co/2JN3ycCi5a Strikes me that all professional sports are about money. Oh, and since we seem to be typing about Association Football clubs here, The oldest one in the world is Sheffield FC (1857), so not "hundreds of years old".
