Thread: UNGA is about to vote on Resolution L.77 on autonomous weapons systems: .
While we urge the UK to vote in favour of this resolution, here are a few things to consider 👇
#VoteAgainstTheMachine#StopKillerRobots
If the new government is serious about addressing these challenges it must now support new international law on AWS to maintain meaningful human control - a principle the UK already subscribes to in its national policy.
Follow what's happening at the United Nations #FirstCommittee and hear what states have to say about #KillerRobots and other disarmament issues

9. Lead on regulating new weaponised technologies
The UK should seek to avert costly & destabilising arms races & get ahead of the risks inherent in such next gen military tech as cyber, AI, AWS, space-based, & bio weapons by promoting their effective, multilateral regulation.
Countries worldwide have shown real leadership in calling for new int'l law to regulate machines that can attack and kill without meaningful human control.
At #UNGA79, they have the action to go from words to action by supporting the resolution on #AutonomousWeapons.
People are #MoreThanData - that’s why states need to #StopKillerRobots and support the resolution on autonomous weapons that will take us toward int’l law at #UNGA79
