Thank you, @WorldGovSummit for having me for a timely discussion with Borje Ekholm about the growing role of technology as a central pillar of national sovereignty, economic growth, and global cooperation.

A professor at MIT spent his life studying uncertainty.
Near the end, he compressed everything into a single one-hour lecture.
No buzzwords. No heavy theory.
Just a clear explanation of how prediction really works.
Not long after, he was gone.
This is that talk.
The idea at its core is simple but powerful:
prediction isn’t about being certain
it’s about understanding probabilities
Most people will scroll past it.
A few will see it and start thinking differently.
Save it.
Instead of watching an hour of Netflix, watch this 2 hour hour Stanford lecture will teach you more about how LLMs like ChatGPT and Claude are built than most people working at top AI companies learn in their entire careers.

At nine years old, he scored 760 on the SAT Math test.
At thirteen, he won an International Mathematical Olympiad gold medal with ease.
At fifteen, he published his first research paper.
At sixteen, he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
At twenty, he completed his PhD at Princeton University.
At twenty-four, he became UCLA’s youngest full professor.
At thirty-one, he won the Fields Medal in mathematics.
He has written nearly three hundred research papers.
He has also authored seventeen advanced mathematics books.
Today, Terence Tao continues to work actively as a professor of mathematics at UCLA.
Turkish Scientist Measures the "Unmeasurable" in Quantum Physics
Turkish physicist Mete Atatüre has delivered a major advance in Quantum Physics by successfully measuring fluctuations in light intensity long considered beyond experimental reach.
Using a technique known as "light squeezing," Atatüre and his team managed to suppress quantum noise to unprecedented levels, enabling the precise detection of signals previously thought immeasurable.
In doing so, the research effectively challenges long-standing assumptions rooted in the theoretical frameworks of Albert Einstein and subsequent generations of physicists regarding the limits of measurement at the quantum scale.
A key aspect of the experiment involved the creation of a highly controlled quantum system, often described as a "super-atom," engineered to operate at a scale roughly 100 times smaller than a conventional atom.
This system allowed researchers to probe the fundamental behavior of light with exceptional precision.
Born in 1975 in Kayseri, Atatüre ranked among the top 500 in Türkiye’s national university entrance exam before completing his undergraduate studies in physics at Bilkent University.
He later earned his PhD in quantum physics in the United Kingdom and went on to build his academic career at Cambridge, where he also worked in the same department as renowned physicist Stephen Hawking.
In recognition of his pioneering work, Atatüre was awarded the prestigious Thomas Young Medal and Prize by the Institute of Physics. The award specifically acknowledged his success in measuring quantum noise in light, a milestone achievement in the field.
Was it a #UFO? A strange object was sighted flying in restricted airspace over #Area51 in Nevada. Some speculate the "Dorito"-shaped object in the sky was simply a new, highly classified, next-generation military aircraft. @NewsNation invited me to join their panel to discuss it. https://t.co/NBsF94zooa

Fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) has long been considered too slow for real-world use—until now. A team led by Prof. Jung Ho Ahn introduces "Cheddar," a GPU-optimized FHE library that achieves up to 4.45× speedup over prior implementations, bringing privacy-preserving cloud computing closer to reality.

At @GoogleDeepMind, we believe AI is the ultimate catalyst for science. 🧬
The best example of this has been the AlphaFold database (AFDB) of protein structure predictions which has been used free of cost by more than 3.3 millions researchers across the world!
Today, in collaboration with @emblebi, @Nvidia and @SeoulNatlUni, we are expanding the database by adding millions of AI-predicted protein complex structures to the AlphaFold Database. To maximise global health impact, we’ve prioritised proteins that are important for understanding human health and disease, including homodimers from 20 of the most studied organisms, including humans, as well as the @WHO’S bacterial priority pathogens list.
