I was completely wrong about my own product today. Here’s why.
Day 11 of building in public.
I'm completely redesigning my features today.
Whenever you build your own tool, you start with intuition.
But building for real users is a completely different thing.
If you only rely on your own ideas, you miss the mark completely.
Now, every feature and every piece of competitor research starts with what users are actually asking for.
At the same time, I'm shifting more core responsibilities to the agent there is a shot of that in the video.
Adding memory and RAG so it does way more:
1. Handles complex tasks without being micromanaged
2. Remembers past context
3. Adapts the website to user taste (minimal vs colorful)
People want custom environments now. Not static boring as hell SaaS dashboards.
Build status:
• Feature redesign in progress (user feedback first)
• Adding memory + RAG to make the agent the central hub
• Dynamic UI adaptation based on preferences
• Visual reskin next
*Pending redesign in order to include new features
@irabukht Ask a model your category question and count the sources it names for your specific business. Usually three or four do all the work.
Being one of those three sometimes beats having eleven scattered assets.
@eric_seufert Amazon, OpenAI/Shopify are doing pretty much the same thing, the agent can ask, but the store keeps the customer, the data, and the sale.
I keep seeing more and more of this.
Nobody wants to use your app. They want to use the Agent.
Day 12 of building in public.
I finished the engagement app today. I worked on it all day and it came out exactly how I wanted.
It grabs the keywords. It finds the conversations. It suggests what to say.
And it doesn't stop at suggesting anymore. It acts.
Every action still waits for my approval. That's on purpose.
But here's what I noticed after using it:
It still asks too much.
Too many clicks. Too many confirmations. Too many steps before something actually happens.
Nobody has time for that.
If your users still have to walk through your product step by step, you didn't build an agent. You built a form with a chat box.
The whole point is to remove work, not add another boring window.
Still left:
• Memory + RAG, so it sounds like the user and not a generic assistant.
• Layout cleanup.
I'm running the coding agents through Orca now. They ship faster than I can review. The tool is working on me first.
Build status (Day 12):
• Engagement app shipped
• Agent can suggest and act, approval still on.
• Extension is next
Happy building everyone!
Hey, thank you for the kind comments. It's on my list of things to do.
Right now I'm happy with terminals, but I heard you guys offer voice, you can talk to it directly and engage more. That's interesting, and different from working with terminals and not engaging in conversation via voice.
Since I want to become a content video creator, I'm thinking about making a YouTube video or a TikTok reviewing it. If I ever do it, I'll tag you.
I dont think I'll do it this month, but I'll definitely go back to it at some point.
Bye.
@leonabboud Content creator > distribution.
As a builder, I say the same thing. I have to put more time into distribution, becoming a content creator, rather than investing that time in building, because building is getting easier and easier.
You can vibe code anything these days.
My suspicion is that apps like Salesforce will eventually do something in the cloud that their competitors will struggle to replicate.
But it's certainly better if you're starting your business to please own all your data dont let openAI steal it from you.
Your competitors can't train on it.
That's the best way forward, owning your AI, owning your CRM, and owning your data.
Journaling in public has to be one of the best ways to remind yourself what you have to do, put yourself out there, and create content.
The one thing AI will not be able to replace is your own content, your own life, your own experiences.
Which gets more valuable the more you post. The more you do it.
Yes, and one caveat: nice alone plateaus.
I was the nice first replier in some posts 536 posts, 68 followers. Niceness filled every room and gave you nothing to be remembered for.
What made it compound: hype people with a specific detail, show up on small accounts daily, and publish one receipt a week so strangers know what you do. Document your journey.
Nice gets the reply.
Your work gets the follow.
This is so slow, this is BS: the next big thing for agents will be speed. They are still way too slow.
Whoever builds the solution to speed things up will build the next unicorn.
I keep seeing more and more of these agents. I think it's a good time if you are into web developing and SaaS to get this integrated. It's kind of annoying, but I did actually click on that and for some reason I wanted to click get in touch.
It's getting more dynamic, so this is gonna be a good integration for those who are building SaaS or promoting a product right now. I actually did click on get in touch. I guess it's because it's kinda new. It's kinda hot right now.
So if you wanna implement this if you're into web development or SaaS, take a look at this.
This is happening to everybody in SaaS, because now everybody can build anything.
A lot of people are relying more on APIs, MCPs these days , open sourcing your code, that seems to be the path forward for indies.
I was listening to this interview, Supabase made ten billion dollars and all their code is open source. A lot of SaaS are going in the direction.
Those are the path forward, at least for the next few years. And distribution too, that would be the thing to break, in the future. The new changes to adapt to.
@AlexFinn "Hundreds of others their first online dollar", that sounds more like distribution than revenue.
Seems like the audience is the money.
Would it land the same from zero followers?
The advice to "stay consistent" is why you get three likes.
Most social media schedulers quietly make your reach worse in 2026.
They train you to treat X like a megaphone: queue ten posts, close the tab, come back to three likes.
Being in the right conversation within 15 minutes of it is the real game, and knowing what to say once you're there.
If your tool doesn't help you reply, it's solving a 2021 problem.
Building this into my app.
@danshipper@every The person I trust, whose taste I actually enjoy, I'll read them forever, agent or no agent.
But analysis, insight, "here's what happened", that I'd happily let my agent summarize and rank it for me.
