I had the privilege of presenting a talk, "The Rise of Generative AI", at the NUST Central Library. It was truly inspiring to discuss the advancements and impact of Generative AI with such an enthusiastic audience. Your participation, insightful questions, and engaging discussions made this event truly memorable.
Together, we continue to explore and define the future of Generative AI!
As my alma mater, The University of Manchester celebrates graduation week, I can’t help but reflect on my own memories of the iconic Arch during my PhD graduation in 2008. The arch has stood the test of time, a symbol of promise and achievement for generations of Manchester graduates, and I am proud to be part of that legacy!

This week marks the 10th anniversary of Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar—a film that, to me, is so much more than science fiction. It’s a story of a father and daughter, a promise made, and a love that transcends time and space. When I designed the cover of my textbook, Interstellar was my guiding inspiration, and I dedicated the textbook to my beloved daughters.
Here’s to a decade of a masterpiece that reminds us of the bonds that defy distance and time!
Congratulations to my brilliant PhD student, now Dr. Tahria Sadaf, on her well-deserved achievement!
Dr. Tahria is my seventh PhD student, and it has been a privilege to supervise her alongside the exceptional Prof. Dr. Shoab A. Khan. Her research, which explores the integration of AI into a national decision support system for managing communicable diseases, exemplifies innovation in public health. Her impactful work has been published in Engineering Applications for Artificial Intelligence. I extend my deepest gratitude to her distinguished evaluators for their invaluable insights: Prof. Goran Nenadic (University of Manchester, UK), Prof. Witold Pedrycz (University of Alberta, Canada), Prof. Muhammad Haroon Yousaf (UET Taxila, Pakistan), and Dr. Sajjad Ali Haider (COMSATS, Pakistan). Special thanks, as always, to Prof. Dr. Usman Akram for his unwavering support.
Dr. Tahria’s also holds the distinction of being the 50th PhD graduate of the Department of Computer and Software Engineering (DCSE), a testament to the department’s legacy of academic excellence.
After countless iterations, the Table of Contents for my sixth book and fourth textbook with Springer, "Generative AI: Foundations & Concepts," is finalized.
And I'm ready for my favourite part – bringing each concept to life on the page!
