On this day two years ago, we launched the Friendly Neighbour Hotline—helping Toronto’s low-income seniors access groceries and food banks during lockdown. Our 1,200 volunteers have made 28,000 pickups/deliveries to over 13,000 seniors!
@theemilykey Hey Emily! A friend of mine (@JeremyDeMello) forwarded this to me and I'd love to learn more. Broad health innovation experience across tech startups, hospitals and teaching at Schulich. Also will be Vancouver based shortly!
The pandemic has taken a great toll on the mental health of Torontonians.
To support residents, @TorontoLibrary is conducting wellness checks with seniors via direct calls and online support programs.
Here is my original ACT map I created, which also started my journey as ACT Auntie!🐰 It was definitely a labour of love, so follow your heart and create your own path, you don't need to see the whole map yet, just take committed action in a valued direction! ❤️ #ACT#Values
Thanks to the MMASc in Global Health Systems program @WesternU for hosting the course; @mindfulwob for expertise in mindfulness curricula; and @unabashedceo for wanting to be my co-instructor 🙌🏾 🙂
@melindagates@NathanStall@JoeBiden I completely share the sentiment, and as a dual citizen I can attest to similar problems in Canada! Been working on this problem for 3 yrs and am so excited to begin to see institutional support for it @JoeBiden@melindagates
@JeremyDeMello @gefencodes Hey @gefencodes! My company Resili offers affordable online therapy (insurance reimbursable if that's your jam) through our app, but we also offer some DIY evidence based mental health help for free. Would love to chat further, and/or check out the site: https://t.co/3beiP7EReq
When @MaggieKeresteci retweets your #caregiver#mentalhealth accolade, you know you're doing something great 😍. Thank you for the support to everyone who continues to help us on our journey to democratizing access to mental health at @SupportsHealth Resili!
As a member of the selection committee for this award I was thrilled to learn about the work Resili @SupportsHealth are doing to democratize access to mental health services in our communities! Can’t wait to see what they do in the future!
Feedback on my company's new soundbite?
"We believe that your #mentalhealth shouldn't be locked in an ivory tower or behind a paywall. That's why Resili's evidence-informed skills will be free forever."
@SupportsHealth@heylandsberg@SickNotWeak we met last year. Fellow member of the tribe supporting mental health after my own journey of health and illness through our app. Launching this to break down barriers and bring mental health skills to everyone for free. Help spread the word?
@javeedsukhera Agreed on ALL fronts. That's why this week, my startup Resili decided to do things differently - releasing all of our DBT skills for free, forever, starting with our 7 day #ResiliChallenge (https://t.co/3beiP7EReq). Excited to connect with others in the same fight!
@Jason 2.
The same way that ridesharing, electric scooters, and others started solving for transportation before the overall industry and problem set could be solved for, we're seeing the same thing in digital health (e.g. behaviour based intervention, intelligent healthcare sourcing)
@Jason Transportation is interesting, considering that even 30 years ago, most people would have put it in the second bucket, given it was infrastructure dependent and significantly regulated.
I think healthcare now is in this same category.
