@unfamiliartunes found my messages and I remember properly why, gd optimises drawing objects by drawing every object in the same spritesheet at once, meaning if an object isn't in the same spritesheet it cant be layered between them, so you'd be guaranteed to have layering issues if it was a mod

@unfamiliartunes i was actually considering making this a mod at one point but layering and potentially changing colour channels and moving objects made it kind of infeasible unless you have very specific decorations I guess
