The Environment Agency has closed the UK glass eel fishery, citing huge numbers of glass eels allegedly dying at an APB holding centre.
If those deaths are being used to justify shutting down a fishery, the public deserves the evidence.
Where is it
Filming into the early hours to witness the iconic glass eel migration was a dream experience. Seeing them beneath ultra-violet light was extraordinary. We return in 2027 to capture much more. Yet barriers claim many lives. More must be done. Driven by instinct. Dying in silence
