The CPD sets out three integrated portfolios that will guide UNDPs work in supporting Uganda’s national development priorities through to 2030:

🔹 Portfolio 2: Sustainable Management of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Resilient Development
🔹 Portfolio 3: Transformative Governance, Political Environment and Partnerships

Across all three portfolios, youth, gender, policy, and strategic partnerships serve as cross-cutting drivers for sustainable impact.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on health and development, share updates on the implementation of UNDP’s programme in Uganda, and explore opportunities for collaboration to advance national transformation.

𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐨 𝟐: Sustainable Management of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Resilient Development.
𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐨 𝟑: Transformative Governance, Political Environment and Partnerships.

With youth, gender, policy and partnership as cross-cutting priorities, the CPD aims by 2030 to support the creation of 100,000 decent jobs, support 10,000 MSMEs to start, formalize and thrive in the green and sustainable economy, sustainably manage 2.76 million hectares of forest, and expand access to justice for 165,000 people.

.@UNDP officially launched and handed over the Mabamba Wetland Ecotourism Association (MWEATA) construction site to Wilseka Group for Phase 1 works under #BIOFINII, in partnership with @NEMAUG & @WakisoDLG and with support from the Governments of Germany🇩🇪 and Norway🇳🇴

The pilot facility will feature solar-powered offices, waste management systems, a community shade facility, gender-responsive biodigester sanitation facilities, a café and craft shop, and an observation tower.

The investment will strengthen community ownership, generate conservation revenue and expand livelihood opportunities for women and young people, while supporting the protection of Mabamba Bay Wetland. 🇺🇬🌿

Earlier today, the @UNDPUganda team led by @IanKingUg met with the International Rice Research Institute leadership on the potential for sustainable commercial rice production in Uganda. 🇺🇬🌾

The discussions centered on opportunities to scale rice production to improve food security, protect wetland ecosystems, and enhance livelihoods for local farming communities.

Women, girls, and youth in Uganda are on the frontlines of the climate crisis, bearing its harshest impacts, yet leading in finding solutions.

Today marks a milestone with the launch of the Uganda Environmental Human Rights Defenders (EHRDs) Network to unite voices, strengthen advocacy, and drive climate justice.  The EHRDs Network will connect defenders across regions and movements to amplify collective action and champion a shared Eco-Solidarity agenda.
