Labour's low vote share is "a big problem" "36%... it's barely more than a third of people voting for you" @RoryStewartUK
36% of the vote -> 63% of the seats -> 100% of the power.
Fair?

💚 What an incredible night. Thank you, Brighton Pavilion! And a huge thank you to all the volunteers who have worked so hard to earn every single vote we got. I can’t wait to get to Parliament so I can take your all of your voices with me and hold this new Government to account.
@SophyRidgeSky It has produced the most disproportionate election result in decades.
Labour on 33.8% of the vote getting 63% (410) of the MPs in the Commons.
Reform got 14.3% but only 0.6% (4) of the MPs
A strong case for a more proportional system? But unlikely to happen now?
I wonder how much the relatively low Labour vote share is down to tactical voting - eg. Labour supporters voting Lib Dem in the south west to unseat Conservatives etc
This election result should mark the end of First Past The Post electoral system. Nearly two thirds didn’t vote for Labour but they still achieved a massive majority. A public debate needs to start today about upgrading our democracy #MakeVotesMatter
More than a thousand people have ALREADY added their name to say that 2024 should go down in history as the LAST election under the broken and unfair First Past the Post system.
Will you join them?

This is NOT simply unfair
⚠️ This is totally unrepresentative & utterly broken.
📜 The last time the opposition had below 150 seats was 1931
☢️ The combined Labour + Tory vote is the lowest its been in 100 years
📉 Turnout has fallen as low as it's ever been

Across the U.K. - including among Labour’s key target voter groups - PR for the House of Commons is seen as the biggest improvement that could be made to our political system.
There is growing demand for #Change to our broken electoral system.

Because of our electoral system, in Lewes, this election is a choice between me and the Conservative.
I’m enormously grateful to the many people who’ve told me they’ll lend me their vote this time.
I’ll always campaign to make sure you do not have to #VoteTactically in future.
So grateful for all the love, support and encouragement I've received while meeting people over the last few weeks ❤️ 🙏 💪
I'm more determined than ever to make sure I'm a strong voice for the amazing people of #Farnham and #Bordon.
Please do vote for @LibDems on July 4th and together, let's work #ForAFairDeal 🔸
Yet another tactical voting website that confirms that @mariecgoldman is in the best position to beat the Tories here in #Chelmsford! 🔶
Everyone agrees - it's the choice of either a local @LibDems champion with Marie or the Conservatives who have let our city down.
