Llevamos décadas moviendo el marco de lo que se puede decir a base de validar cosas que eran impensables. Validaron el escrache como "jarabe democrático", ¿se acuerda? yo me acuerdo, ¿y ahora qué pasa? que se lo hacen a ellos y lo llaman fascismo. Validaron rodear el Congreso, y ahora una cacerolada delante de Ferraz la muelen a palos, ¿verdad? Validaron que un ministro le conteste "saco de mierda" a un ciudadano sin cargo público desde su cuenta de Twitter, y ahora cuando la gente les grita a ellos hijos de puta se quejan de que peligra la democracia. Los jóvenes, Pablo, los que ahora son jóvenes, no como usted ni como yo, que tenemos la misma edad, nacieron con ZP. Eran niños cuando el 15M, les cerraron el instituto con el Covid y les prohibieron bajar al parque, y en clase, llevan diez años explicándoles que la degradación de su barrio es cosmopolitismo e integración, que el coche en el que van al pueblo a ver a la abuela es un crimen climático, que su padre es sospechoso de maltrato. Llevamos diez años de un infotainment cuyo único producto es humillar a la extinta clase trabajadora, a la que llaman "cuñados". Una década diciéndole al niño en el colegio que es un potencial violador, y que tiene que deconstruir su peligrosa identidad. Esos chavales no han visto nunca el mundo que vimos usted y yo. No tienen nada que echar de menos. No puedes pedirles que respeten unas formas que a ellos nadie les ha aplicado jamás.

Nosotros somos la generación que vio pasar todo esto y se quedó mirando La Sexta y leyendo El País: la que se calló lo del jarabe democrático por no parecer facha, la que miró para otro lado cuando le tiraban pis a Arrimadas en el Orgullo, cuando escracheaban a Villacís embarazada, o la que miró para otro lado cuando reconocieron a Cristina Cifuentes haciendo la compra, la rodearon, la escupieron y la insultaron delante de su hijo, que veía la escena llorando. Lo que hay hoy lo hemos hecho nosotros, con nuestras miserias y nuestros miedos, y esos chavales que no tienen mesura son la generación que va a sacar este país del fango, en Paiporta y en todas partes, y lo va a hacer con una ventana que no abrieron ellos pero que van a usar.

Así que cuantas menos lecciones le demos usted y yo, Pablo, mejor.

Important updates on @Revolut and what you can do:

1. According to the group now extorting Revolut, and to the Duel team in contact with them, the attackers took over Italian government and law enforcement mailboxes with an infostealer, sent Revolut Bank UAB in Lithuania a forged European Investigation Order (to attention of @Eurojust @Europol ) in the name of the Italian authorities, and kept sending requests for five months.

2. Revolut answered every one, as @FATFNews and EU AML laws require. Now scale this abuse a thousand times, in the hands of authoritarian states and their proxies, who do not seek attention like these hackers and quietly collect data on citizens and entities of the EU and other Western countries.

3. The attackers claim to hold 147 GB from the Italian side, including internal documents and officer chat logs, and say most of the Revolut data concerns customers in Switzerland, France and Hungary, with other countries affected. Passports and KYC selfies of named individuals are now being published daily until Revolut pays.

What you as an EU citizen can do today to limit these attacks in the future:

1. Contact your MEP on @EP_Economics, @EP_Legal or @EP_Justice and ask for an urgent joint hearing on the weaponisation of mass data collection and a reassessment of the whole approach, before the next leak names someone who does not have the means to move house.

2. Use this argument: every bank, exchange and payment provider in every jurisdiction that follows FATF rules, and the AML, financial and national security laws built on them, is exposed the same way, because the rules oblige them to answer state requests and nobody is required to check whether the state behind the request is who it claims to be.

That is what human rights groups, victims and experts with support of @ODFoundation described to the European Parliament three years ago, proposing specific remedies. The @EU_Commission and the @EUCouncil removed every safeguard the @Europarl_EN adopted from the AML Regulation.

3. You want politicians care more about privacy and digital rights protection?

Support and promote the MPs and MEPs who pushed for remedies. Demand accountability for rejected remedies by Commission and Council.

This year the European Parliament, under @HNeumannMEP @petras_petras @NachoSAmor leadership , named this risk transnational financial repression in its resolution of 18 June 2026.

@coe adopted Resolution 2669 on 25 June, rapporteur @constantinosefs , with @MarkusWiechel pushing specifically for an investigation into transnational financial repression and remedies against it.

The @oscepa followed in The Hague in July, led by @emmedibi , with an even more detailed focus on exactly these attacks.

Blockstream will not pay a ransom for the return of stolen funds. Taking assets without authorization and withholding their return is a crime, not responsible disclosure. It is not white-hat activity. It is theft.

We have engaged in good faith in an effort to secure the return of stolen user funds and protect the broader Bitcoin community. That effort should not be mistaken for acceptance of the actions taken nor of the terms being demanded.

We will not be a party to the precedent that open-source software developed for the good of the Bitcoin community should subject its developers to paying a ransom that far exceeds their economic participation.

Bitcoin is hard money and can’t be minted without costs, Bitcoin doesn’t haircut users to pay a ransom.

To the Bitcoin community:

We are fighting for what we believe in, for the users whose funds were taken, and for the principles on which Bitcoin was built.

The community has demonstrated incredible resolve with teams of people dedicating their time in support of each other to identify and patch vulnerabilities in each other's products and systems. We are all driven by the mission that Bitcoin is the single best asset, for every person, company, and institution on the planet to invest, use, and build on. The world is a different place with the advancements of AI, and the Bitcoin community has responded with force to combat that threat.

Damage has been done, battles have been lost, but on the whole the Bitcoin community is gaining ground in the war with bad actors.

We want to thank the community for those efforts, for your support in hardening the network, helping users recover funds, and for your support in our assertion that crime does not deserve rewards.

To those holding the stolen bitcoin:

There is still an opportunity to resolve this responsibly. The bitcoin can be returned and we can revert to the standard of white-hat principals.

However, if the funds are not returned, we will pursue every lawful avenue available to us. We will work with law enforcement, exchanges, service providers, forensic specialists, and other relevant parties to trace and recover the assets and identify those responsible.

More importantly, Bitcoin is transparent by design and the community is made up of the most sophisticated engineers, cryptographers, and white-hat hackers globally. Transactions do not disappear, and neither does the evidence they leave behind.

We will not pay for the return of stolen property. We will not abandon our users. The Bitcoin community will not stop pursuing the funds.
