Silver Jubilee Seminar on Emerging Technologies for a Sustainable and Intelligent Future

Dhirubhai Ambani University organised the Silver Jubilee Seminar titled "Emerging Technologies for a Sustainable and Intelligent Future (ETSIF)" on April 10, 2026. The institution had the privilege of hosting Dr. Nilesh Desai, Director of the Space Applications Centre (ISRO), and Prof. Naresh Jotwani, Former DAU Professor, who delivered special addresses during the valedictory session. The opening remarks were provided by Prof. G Venkatesh (Director, SoT), Prof. Sanjay Srivastava (Convenor Silver Jubilee Events), Prof. Yash Vasavada (Dean- Research), and Prof. Bhaskar Chaudhury (Head, SELC).

The seminar explored transformative advancements through expert sessions delivered by distinguished academicians. Prof. Mausam (IIT Delhi) discussed AI applications in science and healthcare, Prof. M. S. Santhanam (IISER Pune) spoke on the progression of quantum technology, and Prof. Brijesh Tripathi (PDEU) presented on advances in solar photovoltaics.

The event featured a poster presentation competition where the participants showcased 23 innovative research ideas across themes like AI, Quantum Computing, and Climate Change. The day formally concluded with a valedictory session and an award ceremony recognising the participants' impactful research.

We are pleased to inform you that this year marks a significant milestone for us as DAU celebrates its 25th Anniversary (Silver Jubilee). Since our inception in 2001, the University has remained committed to excellence in ICT education and research in India.

To commemorate this, we are organising a one-day seminar titled "Emerging Technologies for a Sustainable and Intelligent Future" on April 10, 2026.

The seminar will feature expert talks by eminent academicians and scientists covering key emerging areas, followed by a Poster Presentation Competition aligned with the seminar themes. The event will recognise and award some of the best poster presentations.

The focused themes are:
  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
  • Natural Language Processing and Large Language Models
  • Quantum Computers and Quantum Computation: Emerging Frontiers in Quantum Science and Technology
  • Technologies to Mitigate Climate Change
  • Rural Upliftment

These deliberations aim to highlight the role of emerging technologies in shaping a sustainable and intelligent future.

The primary audience will include undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD students from DAU, along with participants from academic and research institutions in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.
