If you care about Jews, please take the time to read this.

I remember studying the Holocaust during my degree and my brain couldn't comprehend it. I constantly asked myself how people could reach such a deep level of hatred that led them to commit genocide? This question prompted me to embark on a journey where I learned in detail about Nazi Germany, the Holocaust, and particularly Nazi propaganda against Jews.

There's a saying that history doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes - in this post, I argue that this saying is precise regarding current antisemitism, showing how Nazi propaganda exists today in almost an identical form. However, there's a minor difference; due to past events, antisemites today blur their intentions through euphemism, not against Jews, but against 'Zionists'.

To illustrate this most clearly, I'll outline the stages of Nazi propaganda development and compare them to our current day. The resemblance is almost uncanny and serves as a warning light that I feel compelled to turn on for you.

Step 1 - Identifying and isolating the "Other":

The Nazi propaganda campaign began by subtly identifying Jews as "different" or "other" within society. This stage didn't immediately focus on overt attacks but rather laid the groundwork by portraying Jews as fundamentally separate from the Aryan German population.

The Nazis exploited existing stereotypes, arguing that Jews were overly sensitive to criticism, often labeling any negative commentary as antisemitism. This portrayal suggested that Jews couldn't handle scrutiny, indirectly positioning them as guilty or hiding something.

Today:

We already regularly see this stage - portraying Jews as egotists and abnormal, defining their values as demonic and dishonest, and spreading lies about their interests. Furthermore, figures from both the far right and far left consistently claim that Jews don't like to hear criticism and therefore use their power to stop it.

For instance, Andrew Tate and his associates argue that Tate was arrested solely because he said a few days ago that the "Matrix" is controlled by Jews. Another example is Candace Owens who has been labeling Jews as the source of evil in the world for the past few months. She, along with others, claims that the U.S. is controlled by Zionists and that the term 'antisemitism' has no meaning since its use is intended to prevent criticism of Jews.

Step 2 - Stereotyping and Caricature:

The Nazis started to propagate more explicit stereotypes about Jews. They were depicted as greedy, untrustworthy, and obsessed with money. Visual propaganda like cartoons and posters exaggerated physical features and associated Jews with corrupt financial practices.

Propaganda increasingly linked Jews with financial exploitation, suggesting they prioritized wealth over moral values. Half-truths were used here, highlighting the success of some Jewish individuals in finance while ignoring the broader context of Jewish life or the diversity of the Jewish community. The Nazis claimed that Jews had undue influence over financial institutions, including banks and stock markets, and were manipulating these systems to benefit themselves at the expense of ordinary Germans. This portrayal fed into fears that Jews were secretly controlling the economy, leading to widespread resentment.

Today:

This stage is also happening now - caricatures of Jews with large noses and devil horns, claims that Jews are greedy and only care about money and power, spreading conspiracies that Jews were behind events like 9/11 and October 7th, and the flourishing of antisemitic figures like Nick Fuentes who spread blood libels about Jewish control of the American economy and social media.

Step 3 - Historical Manipulation:

Nazi propaganda began to manipulate historical and religious narratives to portray Jews as inherently malevolent. They twisted certain biblical stories or Talmudic teachings out of context, presenting them as evidence of Jewish duplicity or immorality.

The Nazis capitalized on Germany's post-World War I economic and social turmoil, blaming Jews for Germany's defeat and subsequent hardships. They spread lies that Jews were responsible for the nation's suffering, using the Treaty of Versailles and the Weimar Republic's struggles as "evidence".

The propaganda asserted that Jewish bankers and businessmen had profited from Germany’s loss and that Jews had manipulated the economy to keep Germany weak. Moreover, Jews were accused of pushing Germany into wars for their own financial gain, leading to the deaths of countless Germans and draining the nation's resources.

Today:

We're currently at this stage. Recently, everyone has witnessed the Nazi-like activity of figures like Candace Owens, Dan Bilzerian, and many others who obsessively dehumanize Jews. These individuals daily misrepresent the Talmud as proof that Jewish values are corrupt and dangerous to society. They argue that Zionists profit from Western wars and therefore cause them. They point out that Jews are the reason for the spread of migrants to the West, the killing of American soldiers in the Middle East, the U.S. national debt, and the mental weakness of the Western public.

Step 4 - Intensification and Broadening of Accusations:

Propaganda intensified by broadening the range of accusations against Jews. They were blamed not only for economic woes but also for political instability, social decay, and cultural decline. Jews were portrayed as conspirators behind communism, capitalism, and every political ideology that opposed Nazi ideology.

The Nazis claimed that Jews controlled the press and other media outlets, using this control to manipulate public opinion and spread lies that benefited them. This accusation was intended to undermine trust in independent media, suggesting that any news critical of the Nazis was part of a Jewish conspiracy. The idea was to convince the public that Jews were using the media to wage a psychological war against Germany, further deepening distrust and animosity.

As the propaganda evolved, it increasingly relied on emotional manipulation, using fear and anger to rally the German populace against Jews. The Nazis portrayed themselves as protectors of the "pure" German people, claiming they were fighting against a vast Jewish conspiracy that threatened the very survival of the nation.

Today:

We're starting to see sparks of this stage, and as days progress, we'll witness more and more conspiracies claiming that Jews are responsible for every ideology in the world. Moreover, the claim that Jews control the media has been in public discourse for a long time as if it were a proven fact. Everything bad that happens in the world will be blamed on the Zionists who manage to harm innocent people and evade responsibility. This will be the stage where there will no longer be any attempt to blur the hatred of Jews as hatred of Zionists, and the moment when, I estimate, many Jews will feel unsafe.

Step 5 - Justifying Discrimination and Violence

By this stage, Nazi propaganda had dehumanized Jews to the point where discrimination and violence were framed as necessary and justified actions. The idea that Jews were a danger to society was deeply ingrained in the public consciousness.

Nazis portrayed themselves as victims of Jewish aggression, further justifying their actions. They claimed that any criticism of their policies was a Jewish attempt to undermine German society, reinforcing the idea that Jews were an existential threat. This narrative was used to justify increasingly severe measures against Jews, portraying them as defensive acts necessary to protect Germany.

Step 6 - Culmination in Extermination Ideology:

The final step in the evolution of Nazi propaganda was the rationalization of genocide. Jews were no longer seen as individuals but as a collective "problem" that needed a "final solution". Propaganda depicted extermination as a tragic but necessary act to preserve the German nation.

Throughout this process, the Nazis mixed half-truths with outright lies to create a compelling, albeit entirely false, narrative. They used selective truths about individual Jews or historical events to lend credibility to their broader falsehoods, making their propaganda more persuasive. For instance, they pointed to the involvement of Jewish individuals in financial institutions or media as "proof" of a broader conspiracy, while ignoring or distorting the complex realities of these industries.

Today:

The final stages are still far from reality. We aren't talking about isolated cases, but a general policy that would directly harm Jews. However, every decent person reading this and caring for the Jewish people must ask themselves whether they will help, actively or passively, in the realization of this stages. It's important to remember that today's Jews will fight like lions against antisemitism and always have the state of Israel to protect them if necessary, but do we really want to reach a situation where Nazi ideology makes a comeback? As human beings, do we want to get to such a low place? Can so many people be hurt?

My Jewish and non-Jewish friends, this post isn't meant to scare you, but to wake you up - we mustn't ignore what's happening, and we need to ensure that we're prepared for any scenario and fight against this very ugly phenomenon called antisemitism. We mustn't lie to ourselves and say it's not against Jews, but against Israel. We mustn't be afraid to stand up for ourselves. Antisemitism isn't the problem since it has existed since the dawn of history - the problem is the indifference to it.

I ask you, don't be indifferent, and let us make sure together that history does not rhyme.
