I discussed the Global Societal Impact of Infectious Diseases. Historically Infectious Diseases have had Post Infectious sequelae documented as far back as Influenza of 1889
I had the honor to give a keynote on the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic & sepsis awareness at the renowned Virchow House in #Berlin, Germany.
Joined by Global Health Leaders, Esteemed colleagues & Physicians, I walked the audience through memories of the timleime
After a long day of pt rounds & high level #UNGA side meetings discussing AMR, Sepsis, Viral Sepsis, Climate, Pandemic Prev Prep & Response to find a special delivery of my latest published book COVID-19 Viral Sepsis an entity that is far too often under-diagnosed & under-treated
It was a delightful morning in conversation with leaders from Burkina Faso & @USAID talking about Pandemic Preparedness , lessons learned & answering questions about strategies for improvement

We proudly introduce Dr. Uzma Syed, our esteemed new Board Member. It is with great honor that we welcome her to our team.
Dr. Uzma Syed is a TEDx speaker, author and leader & Infectious Diseases & Global health expert who speaks in media and conferences on both a national and global scale. She has led during the COVID-19 pandemic in her medical field,health system, local community as well as for the broad Muslim community as the Infectious Disease expert on the National Muslim COVID-19 Task Force. Dr. Syed is a fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, graduate of their leadership institute and sits on numerous national committees. She collaborates with IMANA and WHO for pandemic preparedness for respiratory pathogens. She has been working with the Biden Administration to promote vaccine and health equity as an executive member of faiths4vaccines and has partnered with USAID. She is passionate about education and mentorship and is the founder/CEO of Align Us a youth career mentorship organization. She also leads The Eid Holiday Coalition which provides resources and tools for communities to obtain Eid Holidays in schools across the nation. Dr. Syed has been recognized as a trailblazer by many local, state and national organizations for her work including the prestigious National Muslim Woman Leadership Award in the company of Her Excellency, Emine Erdogan, the First Lady of Turkiye. Her humanitarian work has spanned from refugee resettlements to soup kitchens/toy drives. Dr. Syed shared her expertise at the 9th Annual Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace among global leaders and diplomats regarding global health, climate change and food insecurities. She delivered the keynote at the University of New England's 25th Annual White Coat Ceremony.
“I am looking forward to connecting with, supporting and representing millions of Muslim women across the world as a Board Member of the World Hijab Day Organization. Passionate about representation for Muslimah and championing their needs, I hope to bring awareness to the bias and discrimination and microaggressions that Muslim women face on a daily basis. With awareness comes dialogue and opportunities to create positive change both within and outside our communities.”
It was a pleasure breaking fast with Her Excellency @EmineErdogan at @TRConsulNY . She thanked the community for outpouring of monetary donations & over 2k tons of goods which were sent for the earthquake relief. She also announced being named the chair @UN panel for Zero Waste
