As a country, we've never dealt with corruption seriously.

When you realise how difficult it is to build a wealth of Rs.6 crores in a developed nation, we come across news items where even low level government officials are caught with unaccounted wealth ranging from tens of crore to hundreds of crore rupees.

I mentioned how Singapore and China brought death sentences for what are routine in India like selling adulterated food and spurious drugs.

Not that we should give death to corrupt. The numbers may be huge in our country. Long jail terms coupled with confiscation of entire wealth is the way to go. That would send a strong message to rest of the people to give up corrupt practices.

It’s a strange world where organic and farm fresh trend on Instagram, while actually fake milk, paneer, vegetables, fruits, and eggs and sold and consumed. First the air and water was unsafe and now food can’t be trusted. It’s a pathetic standard of living masked as developing society.

You can own a 2cr apartment, earn 50 lakh a year, drive an electric vehicle, and build cutting edge AI tools. But if you still can’t breathe clean air or eat real genuine food even after paying a premium for it, its very sad. I don't think packaging labels, influencer videos are going to help. And can't be dependent onparliamentary debates or news cycles to pretend things are being taken care.

If the people in authority can’t guarantee clean air, water, and unadulterated food, then everything else like GDP numbers, AI powers is of no good. We need to fix this. Human lives can't be just a trending topic.

Pre ethanol adulteration - We used to import 85% of our crude requirements.
Then came the great visionaries @nitin_gadkari @HardeepSPuri and adulterated petrol with 20% ethanol despite 80% of our vehicles being incompatible with e20.

Now:
- We are importing 90% of our crude requirements.
- We are importing ethanol.
- We are importing corn for making ethanol.

When basic science eludes our ruling class, this is what happens.
