The accusation that I am antisemitic is appalling and fundamentally dishonest. Criticizing the actions of the Israeli prime minister, a military technology contract, or the executives who supply it is not the same as criticizing Jewish people. This critical and necessary dialogue is then dishonestly framed as being anti-Israel. To be clear, my views come from my own political convictions and should never be interpreted as hostility toward Jewish people, for whom I have deep love and respect. Everything I know about acting, activism, and humanism has been profoundly shaped by the Jewish friends, colleagues, and loved ones who have been integral and family throughout every point of my life.
This merger has real consequences for real people, and for the entire country. Scrutinizing the Ellisons, including Oracle’s business built on data, surveillance technology and government contracts, and the serious threat to editorial freedom and the loss of a livelihood for thousands of families, is fair and necessary. The $111 billion deal would hand one family control over CNN, HBO and Warner Bros., backed in part by foreign money whose influence on editorial decisions has never been fully explained to the public.
Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have called for serious national security review, and regulators still haven’t given the public a real answer. Until they do, the merger shouldn’t move forward. Now is the time to dive boldly into all these issues, not step back or concede.
🚨The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) issues an urgent alert about the rapidly deteriorating and catastrophic humanitarian conditions in the #Gaza Strip. The Israeli occupation continues to enforce a systematic #starvation policy, implemented through a suffocating blockade and severe restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid.
⭕Official figures indicate that 127 people — including 85 children — have died from hunger and severe malnutrition since the beginning of the war. This horrifying toll is a clear sign of the accelerating humanitarian collapse. Life in Gaza has become nearly unlivable, as civilians are denied access to the most basic necessities: food, water, and medicine.
More than two million people are now facing catastrophic levels of food insecurity. Thousands of families have not had a single meal in days. Hospitals are overwhelmed with cases of severe malnutrition, emaciation, and fainting — particularly among children, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and the elderly.
With infant formula unavailable and breastfeeding nearly impossible due to maternal malnutrition, the lives of infants are in grave danger. The lack of nutritional supplements and critical medications further hinders healthcare workers, who continue to serve their communities despite facing hunger and deprivation themselves.

For @JewishCurrents, I audited hundreds of claims of “Hinduphobia” made by the Hindu American Foundation and found that the organization routinely misclassifies anti-Asian racism, anti-Muslim violence, and criticism of Hindu nationalism as anti-Hindu hate. #Thread
"In its annihilative force and ambition, the Israeli campaign is unique among modern conflicts. In fact, the term 'war crime' is not even adequate for what's happening in Gaza."

Andrew Cuomo is the front-runner to be the next mayor of New York City—but in 2021, he resigned from the governor’s office in disgrace. @RonanFarrow, who has reported extensively on the former governor, discusses the charges of corruption that shadowed Cuomo’s administration.
NEW:
Andrew Cuomo used ChatGPT to help write the housing plan he released this weekend, which included several nonsensical passages. The plan even cites to ChatGPT on a section about the Rent Guidelines Board.

The State of Israel ordered UNRWA to vacate all premises in occupied East Jerusalem and cease its operations in them by 30 January 2025.
This order is in contradiction to international law obligations of UN member states including the State of Israel, which is bound by the General Convention on Privileges and Immunities of the United Nations.
United Nations premises are inviolable and enjoy privileges and immunities under the United Nations Charter.
The State of Israel is a signatory -without reservations- to the General Convention on Privileges and Immunities of the United Nations and enacted its provisions in its domestic law. These provisions oblige the State of Israel to respect United Nations privileges and immunities, including respect for United Nations premises.
UNRWA property and assets including in East Jerusalem are immune from search, requisition, confiscation, expropriation, and any other form of interference.
Claims from the Israeli authorities that UNRWA has no right to occupy the premises are without foundation. They promote anti-UNRWA rhetoric, placing the Agency’s facilities and personnel at risk. The Government of Israel has stated publicly that the aim to vacate UNRWA premises in Sheikh Jarrah is to expand Israeli illegal settlements in occupied East Jerusalem.
The State of Israel must take all appropriate measures consistent with international law obligations to ensure that UNRWA’s property and installations are respected and protected.

SHARE WIDELY. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.
With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights.
You do NOT have to speak to ICE without a JUDICIAL warrant. (1/3)
