Thread: How Pakistan Lost Kashmir in 1947.
Long Post but worth reading.
Pakistan, in its history, was blessed with two chances to decide the fate of Kashmir once and for all. One was in 1947 when our indecisive and fearful leadership stopped successful military offensive and 1/n
I guess this isn't something new for the region. For the last several decades, different actors have been protecting and advancing national interests and expanding spheres of influence under the pretext of 'Protection of Holy sites/Shrines'. This is how they galvanise and mobilise militias across the West and South Asia. Infact, this isn't even a contemporary phenomenon in the region.
Regardless, currently, I don't think Pakistan is interested in 'effectively waging a war on behalf of Israel' when Israel wants to destabilise the region, which serves as the economic and strategic backbone of Pakistan. Maybe Islamabad is being forced to shift its policy and take steps that it deemed out of the question in 2015 because some other actors want to achieve the same objectives.
Maybe Pakistan is considering shifting its posture because currently Ansarallah is blocking Pakistan's oil supply and undermining its energy and economic security, not Israel's. Similarly, the attack on 'civil infrastructure' is resulting in deaths and injuries of Pakistanis, not Israelis. Moreover, the lives and Jobs of around 3 million Pakistanis living and working in KSA are at stake. So 'effectively on behalf of Israel' would be last on Islamabad's concerns, considering the value that KSA, as its long-standing strategic partner, adds to economic (Remitances, bailouts) and energy security (Oil+) and diplomatic outreach.
Pakistan's security and regional calculus would be defined by its energy security, especially when a financial crisis is on the cards. Previously, Pakistan has stated that it would intervene if 'security interests' are threatened. This is a critical topic for states, and it poses a serious threat to states, forcing them to adopt aggressive policies, just as Iran has introduced "Oil for all or for none" to ensure its energy and economic security.
So, factually, this "effectively on Behalf of Israel" also sounds like a psyop.

@TSnooker102 Disagree. If he goes past last 16 he wins. You don’t want to peak in early stages. A scrappy victory would do but thnk hes going to get better as tournament progresses
Military careers (battlefield command at brigade level or above) of Pakistani army chiefs before they took that position:
Ayub Khan: Nil
Mohammad Musa: Nil
Yahya Khan: successfully led Bajaur campaign v Afghanistan in early 1960s, but lost Kashmir campaign v India in 1965
Low-key think they should shift the venue to Lahore. Make him feel grand in the Royal Fort. Tell him stories of magnanimous emperors who walked there. And maybe he will take the fucking offramp.
@TSnooker102 Okay not rooting for their final but any match b/w them would be a delight to watch. Brecel however doesn’t have the same long game as zhao. Hope hes at his best at the crucible
the Gulf should swap US bases for Pakistani ones. Pakistan has workable ties with Iran (less risk of escalation) and soldiers far more willing to fight for the region
