People keep saying “ABU has nothing over other universities except Carnival.”
I honestly don't know what metric you're using, but let's talk about what happened THIS SESSION alone. 🦅
ABU just won the 2026 Enactus Nigeria National Competition and will represent Nigeria at the Enactus World Cup in Brazil. 🏆
ABU students went to Shenzhen, China for the Huawei ICT Skills Global Finals, competing against 177 teams from 40 countries.
Result?

🥇 1st in Cloud
🥈 2nd in Computing
🏆 Women in Tech Award
ABU students also won ₦50 MILLION in the Federal Ministry of Education's Students Ventures Capital Grant competition.
Then came the 2026 Heirs Insurance Hackathon, where ABU students won ₦3 million and finished as the only Northern university among the final five.
And this is just ONE SESSION.
From Technology to Law, Engineering to Agriculture, Medicine to Humanities, research to entrepreneurship, ABU continues to put its people on national and international stages.
Even look at the current Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Dutsin-Ma, Prof. Mohammed Khalid Othman.
An ABU alumnus.
Bachelor's, Master's and PhD from ABU.
Former Executive Director of NAERLS, ABU.
Now VC of another federal university.
That's the kind of ecosystem we're talking about.
And let's be honest: even people who joke about ABU know the influence ABU carries. They know the alumni, they know the institutions, they know the people ABU has produced, they know what ABU students keep doing.
They just don't always like giving us our flowers. 😂
But flowers are not arrogance when they're earned.
ABU has its flaws. Every university does.
But to say ABU has “nothing” over other universities?
Come on.
Give credit where credit is due.
In academics.
In research.
In innovation.
In leadership.
In national development.
In technology.
In Web3.
On international stages.
And yes...
CARNIVAL TOO. 😂🦅🏆

No disrespect to any university. BUK, UI, UNILAG, FUTMINNA, UNN and the rest all have their strengths.
But when it comes to ABU?

Kwankwaso Threatens to Leave NDC if His Candidates Are Replaced as Party Insists on 60/40

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has replaced several candidates earlier submitted by the Kwankwasiyya faction in Kano State over an alleged breach of a power-sharing agreement according to report by Dailypost.

According to a document signed by Kano State NDC Chairman, Hon. Hussaini Isah Mairiga, the changes were made to reflect the earlier agreement on the distribution of party positions and elective tickets between the existing NDC structure and the Kwankwasiyya bloc.

The document was copied to National Leader Senator Seriake Dickson, Kwankwasiyya leader Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and the NDC North-West Zonal Chairman.

Under the revised list, the party approved the following for Federal Constituencies:
• Barrister Isma’il Idris Sani – Kumbotso
• Nasiru Ali Ahmed – Nassarawa
• Kabiru Ishaq Sa’id – Kano Municipal
• Barrister Dayyabu Jamilu Ibrahim – Doguwa/Tudun Wada
• Muhammad Hamisu Abubakar – Dawakin Tofa/Rimin Gado/Tofa
• Ibrahim Bashir Bango – Sumaila/Takai
• Abdulmajid Isa Umar Mairigar Fata – Gwale
Adjustments were also made to State House of Assembly tickets in Dala, Tarauni, Kumbotso, Ungogo, and Dawakin Kudu constituencies.

The NDC explained that there was a standing agreement for elective positions and party offices to be shared on a 60-40 basis, with the Kwankwasiyya bloc receiving 60% and the original party structure retaining 40%.

A coworker died yesterday morning😭.
​HR knew by 9 :00 AM, but they kept us working all day. They finally told us around 4 :30 PM, then had the nerve to say, "You can head home early if you need to"—knowing we all finish at 5: 00 PM anyway.
​This morning, it’s back to "business as usual." Some of my friends are literally sobbing at their desks, but they’re expected to work and be productive. No time to grieve.
​It’s a cold reality. Within a week, the company will have his job posted online. Within a month, someone else will be sitting in his chair.
​But his family ,his children will still talk about him every day,they will ask where is daddy , His wife will mourn him for ages ,he was the love of her life .
​At work, we are just a "resource" that can be replaced in a week. At home, we are the world. Stop giving your best energy to a desk that will forget you, and giving the "leftovers" to the people who never will.
