Kim Rabuka grew up seeing his uncle, media guru Stanley Simpson hustling to get the news that Fiji needed. He was inspired.
So, he made a promise to himself to be the next version of his uncle possible.
He is a Student Journalist at USP.
“I love expressing myself through writing and communication,” says Vere Frances.
The young lass grew up loving to write and telling stories every time she was given a chance.
Frances is a second-year Journalism and Law student at the University of the South Pacific.
Just for all to know , @USPSA2 hasn’t put up any flags in front of it’s HQ ever since @pal_vcp was suspended! Those flags will finally fly this Friday as our member countries will meet for #GoodGovernance ! [Check the background pic @USPSA2 account]
Look at that.
Students demonstrating peacefully on their campus.
Not a police officer or sniffer dog in sight.
They don’t even need a permit.
This could be us but some of you keep voting for coup parties.
If you're a #PacificIslander consider committing some social media space + attention to the #USP saga unfolding at Laucala, Fiji this week. #USP belongs to 12 countries. Give space toward Wed. 17 June's USP Council Meeting. Support the USP family in this time. #VisibilityMatters
#Fiji: Worrying to hear that police entered the University of the South Pacific (#USP) today to shut down #protests against removal of the Vice Chancellor. Clear violation of the right to peaceful assembly
This afternoon @UniSouthPacific Staff Association have vowed to stand down with @pal_vcp if he is suspended or terminated by the Fiji-led Executive Committee. Staff reps Dr. Morgan Tuimaleali'ifano and Elizabeth Reade Fong speaking here.
Hundreds of staff, students and alumni of USP have gathered on Laucala campus in support @pal_vcp. Excellent mobilisation by USPSA, regional students and the Staff Association. I’m a proud almunus today ✊🏾
