Our @slcfire and @slcpu teams will be filling sandbags tonight at 1700 South and 1700 East to help with flooding. They could use some help from volunteers tonight. If you’re able to assist, they’d love the support. They’re filling bags near the barricades at 17th and 17th. Please be careful, and don’t enter flooded areas.
UPDATE: Sandbagging volunteers are needed for the flood. The staging areas are as follows:
1700 S and 1700 E
1700 S and 1600 E
Bring shovels and gloves, please! Thank you!
To bolster our wildfire response, we’ve secured the assistance of two Utah task forces and one California strike force, arriving in Montana today and tomorrow.
Thank you, @GovCox and @GavinNewsom, for supporting the State of Montana this wildfire season.
Worth repeating. Today small groups of people showed u p to protest the homes of 2 public health officials. This is illegal and unacceptable. Public safety officers will deal appropriately with them. Dr. Dunn and countless other professionals deserve our gratitude and admiration.
Guess it’s a good time to share this thread again.
Remember, aftershocks from the Magna quake (almost a month ago) are still normal.
Oh, and the @UtahShakeOut is still on.

Final thoughts:
We are Utah.
We do things together.
We get through hard things together.
Band together as neighborhoods, as families.
Don’t waste this opportunity to learn earthquake facts, take charge with earthquake preparedness and take time to heal.

It was a long night last night for many UDOT crews and other first responders from city, county and state organizations as they worked together to clear mud, rocks, huge boulders and debris from roads blocked by mudslides. Thanks to all for your selfless hard work and dedication!
We want to highlight our employees who work every day toward our goal of keeping Utah safe. Our first DPS employee spotlight features @UtahEmergency staff member Anna Boynton, who serves as DPS' tribal liaison.
Thank you to Lt. Gov. @SpencerJCox for speaking at #UtahEMconf about fire response stories.
• Lots of communications lessons from #WoodHollowFire. We need to communicate quickly to residents.
• Utah needs to manage fires and wildlands well.
• Utahns take care of one another.
