This is an interesting point. Having seen this play out at @InMobi and also now at @Pickyourtrail - a short 🧵
There are folks who helped the org get from 0-1 or 1-10. Spare my cliches - but the 0-1 or 1-10 journey invovles a lot of hustle and process or repeatability isnt 1/n
@jammypants4 Click baity interviews and their silly questions. Not defending Srinath in the interview, he was mostly ok during the interview but he was clearly not happy with the wanna be attitude of the RJ (he himself being an RJ may have an impact) and openly told him that at one point.
@jammypants4 Problem is with the audience expecting the perfect behaviour from anyone they like in screen. Most of these so called troublesome actors are introverts and free spirited individuals who doesn’t fit into the definition of a star. They speak their mind and gets irked at the (1/2)
@chennaikat@rakeeeeb Nna than case kodu probably lost a bit of eyeballs because of the theatre experience Thallumala provided. I think Keralites were waiting for a proper theatre experience film for a long while and Thallumala happened.
@chennaikat Being an honest film, and a self aware one, the critiques also appreciated it. Esp the liberal media. The Cue- a new age online channel had many features on the cultural subtexts that may not be evident to people outside of Kerala.
@chennaikat It was an instant hit. The fact that the writer and director has an incredible track record also helped. They are agmark mavericks. Muhsin Parari always had interesting stories, esp authentic malabari ones
@annavetticad It’s a smartly designed film. Self aware and knows it’s target. What is emotional emptiness to some is a sensory overdose for others. I think Malayalam industry also needs films like this and Ajagajandaram.
Dear Friend was really nice. Should've gone straight for OTT, if that was a choice, as the box office performance might put people off from watching it now.
Another good one in the Bangalore Malayaless genre along with Naduvazhikal & Vandanam. Fuck Bangalore Days. #DearFriend
@harish_io budget traveller will appreciate the honesty in the first picture. well lit, gives a clear picture of what’s there and what’s not. Bottom one for him - under exposed but moody, sets premium expectation, yet hides necessary visual clues. It’s designed for someone with deep pocket
