Encourage such actions in schools. Impressions formed early last through out life. Joy of giving is partnership with God. In my first days of mental health work I met an interesting man Jagdish Kacholia. He said that he has a partnership with God. Out of every rupee he earns right from day 1 he donates some amount to a good cause

A : Some kids write slowly and when they are reprimanded they get paralysed. A few have difficult handwriting ( not dysgraphia) . It can be poor motor coordination . Let that be. Again criticism stops them from using the pencil. Distracted kids too don't write. Check for Hyperactivity and A.D.H.D. Not wanting to write could be an early sign of dyslexia. Let a child see a Psychologist. Take oral tests and do not be punitive. One of my sons never wrote and used one note book for all subjects. He was never punished by a school that understood. He has dyslexia and today he is doing well

The numbers have multiplied across the last many years. And 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫. A professional who may have to work for 36 hours at a stretch during their emergency days.

The Medical , Surgical , Gynecological , Pediatric , Orthopedic Residents face the biggest burnt. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝.

This ordeal is normalised and 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐚 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞.

The numbers of the poor are increasing though the Government has been shrieking that 25 crore Indians have been removed from the poverty line. I don't dispute this. But when many are removed more follow and gravitate into the poverty trap.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐀𝐲𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐬 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡. They cannot seek private treatment and have to rely on Govt hospitals .

A data point that is important and connected here is that 31 % 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 ( 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐍𝐂𝐑𝐁 ) 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐫𝐬. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝟐𝟕.𝟓 % 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫.

R.M.O s are young men and women who also come with emotional baggage from the past. 𝟑𝟑.𝟓 % 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐮𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐬. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝟑𝟏.𝟗 %. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑.𝐌.𝐎 𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐩𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐬𝐥𝐨𝐠 𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬.

And do we take care of of our young Doctors. The number of R.M.O s are less and more are not appointed. The gap between the earnings of the Consultant and the RMO s is big. They are on the front line punched and beaten up by irate patients and relatives for no reason.

This situation has to be rectified . They should be working in shifts like nurses and doctors all over the world 8 to 10 hours only

So the care for the poor suffers. So 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐠 𝐢𝐟 𝐚 𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐌𝐎 𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦. The toil takes a toll on the interpersonal empathy both between doctors and with pts and families. Recently a RMO had dengue and was sick. His peers demanded that he return in 3 days.

The care for the poor is compromised this. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Private players are salivating and waiting to take over the municipal hospitals. The municipal schools are handed over to N.G.O s. The NGO appoints their own teachers at meagre salaries this compromising with the quality of teaching . The 7 th pay commission salaries are not given
