🇵🇸 More than 900 all-terrain wheelchairs donated by two Australian charities for amputee children in Gaza have remained blocked in storage in Jordan since 2025, The New Arab reported on Wednesday.

COGAT, the Israeli defense ministry body that oversees aid entry, rejected a February 2025 application from the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation to include the equipment in an aid convoy, citing incomplete approval for medical equipment; the application has since been designated “pending” with no updates.

The wheelchairs were designed for difficult terrain, according to the groups, including the rubble that now covers much of the Gaza Strip. Gaza currently has the largest group of child amputees in modern history, according to the UN.
