What are your favorite one-liners from Re:Zero? Novel included.
Mine is actually from EX4, said by Vincent Vollachia:
"There are no words for how ill your stars must be"
It's my favorite iteration of "Your stars were bad" meme and it's actually canon!
@beakostepfather He likes to talk big and to act perverted but he is such a hopeless romantic that he wouldn’t do things like that even with all the consent offered if he doesn’t feel emotionally connected with the person he is doing it with. That’s why he’s the goat!
This is one of my fav scenes in all Re:Zero. Seeing how much respect Subaru holds for his parents and watching him shut down Echidna for mocking and looking down on them was so satisfying to see. Shame the anime didn't emphasize it enough with his expression but atleast Manga did

Brother, just how fucked up can someone be?? Todd stabs Subaru for the LOOK in his eyes. And the thing is, he's right... Subaru really was already figuring out how to steer him with everything he knew from the last loop. I mean, Todd has no idea about Return by Death. However, he compares how you act with how someone in your situation should act, and if it doesn't fit, he goes straight for the knife.
I really don't know how to make sense of Todd so far. Paranoid perhaps? But I don't think that quite captures it either, because paranoia means being suspicious for no reason, and Todd was right to be suspicious. Subaru actually did want to "manipulate" him in a way. What's disproportionate is how he reacts. He strikes on a mere hunch and sees killing as the easiest solution. His threshold for violence seems to be extremely low.
I'd even go so far as to say Todd is Subaru's natural enemy, the perfect counterpoint to him and his RbD. RbD especially works as long as Subaru knows more than everyone around him, but Todd judges every moment on its own and notices right away when something is off, and he goes straight for violence when there is something that doesn't fit . It's like, if Subaru uses what he knows, Todd sees it. If he acts like he knows nothing, he throws away the one advantage he has.
@mattyawooga It's really gross, especially when the protagonist is 40+ years old and the women in question are 15-year-old girls (except for Roxy, who is of a race that makes her permanently look like she's 12)
@rice_earl63932@Wassimouu rem getting her memories back was by far the worst way they could of done it, that should of been reset because it didnt even feel paid off a majority of rezeros plot points didnt feel paid off
@Chase80151@Wassimouu vollachia didnt side track it developed the world and barus influence while giving us a whole new cast and giving us major developments like with al priscilla satella the stargazers and the great disaster
@Benjami97342069@Wassimouu ur not realizing rz still has and had a ton of unexplored plot threads and arcs so taking arc 9 in a permanent direction would throw off years of lore and setup.
They hate the arc because of the reset meanwhile it's the best thing it could've happened. "Bu..bu..but the development of some characters are gone" tf do u mean development, everything was fucked up lmaoo, it was the end of the world and yall are talking about some "development"
Hey maybe this is why Echidna acts so cold and distant to her during the trials, but then cries when Emilia finds herself. She needs to hate Emilia otherwise doing the Ordeal is going to be tough. But Echidna, Puck, Fortuna, they all start seeing the vessel is her own person
I love how subversive the writing of the witches are in re zero. Tappei took the concept of the deadly sins and twisted it into a more morally grey narrative that made his story so much more enjoyable
Puck haters reading Arc 11 when Puck finally returns to face off against his sister Fortuna, now Sirius Romanée-Conti, in a massive battle of fire and ice in Elior Forest
