Workers got more database options, new @PlanetScale Postgres or MySQL created in Cloudflare’s dashboard and billed through your Cloudflare account. Hyperdrive connects Workers and your PlanetScale database to make queries fast.
Available now for pay-as-you-go accounts. Coming soon for all accounts.
Create PlanetScale Postgres and MySQL databases directly from Cloudflare. Use them with Workers and Hyperdrive for connection pooling and caching.

🤸♀️You can now get a single unified trace of your Worker across service bindings and Durable Object calls 🤸♀️
no more manually piecing together multiple traces to see what’s happening within a request
You've heard of @Cloudflare Durable Objects... but what are they?
What do they enable you to build?
What are the platform guarantees?
What new patterns do they open up?
Good news! I just released a completely free series on Durable Objects!

@samgoodwin89@acoyfellow First step is to just revert the change.
For new Workers, I'm curious why an error is not helpful user feedback? Preview urls are not supported with Durable Objects (something we are developing a net-new feature to address).
@samgoodwin89@acoyfellow@samgoodwin89 This was our mistake. Rename here should have supported both "service/name". And preview urls + Durable Objects should have silently errored for existing projects. We are fixing now and continuously commit to a high bar for backwards compatibility.
I am hiring an engineer (at least one) to improve the Durable Objects developer experience. Tactically:
- Maintaining @cloudflare/actors
- Reducing Wrangler configuration
- Managing our developer community, e.g. Discord

Data Studio for Durable Objects is now... live!
I might have been a bit off on my "next week" estimate but we made it happen. Huge shoutout to everyone involved – was a cross-team effort. Big thanks to @KentonVarda for making it all possible.
@nickbalestra I'm the product manager for Durable Objects. We're thinking about cloning for early next year. Would love to chat about how you could leverage, will send a DM!
@soubiran_@soubiran_ For information about the user seat, do you mean the seat across multiple flights? I believe you're asking about admin queries across multiple Durable Objects but want to confirm.
One thing I don’t think we’ve said enough externally: in the way that teams at AWS use DynamoDB or Spanner at Google to build products: we use Durable Objects.
It's the metadata layer for R2. Replay protection for Access. Co-ordinator for Cache Purge (just to name a few).
I have a hot take: Synchronous storage I/O is good actually. Especially when it's SQLite running in Durable Objects. Which we launched today. Here's my blog post explaining how this can be really really fast -- and also easier to reason about.
