New @WHO report on #RoadSafety gives some cause for celebration – 5% ↓ in deaths (16% ↓ in death rates) since 2010, despite doubling of vehicle fleet & population increasing by 1 billion.

Today @who launched the Global Status Report on Road Safety. Even though we have seen a decrease in road deaths in this period, 92% of these occur in low and middle income countries.
There is an urgent need to mobilize resources to address safe mobility.
Every minute more than 2 road traffic deaths occur. That's over 3200 per day.
23% of the yearly 1.19 million deaths are pedestrians.
