As protests in Albania continue to grow, Edward McAllister, Reuters Bureau Chief for Greece and the Balkans, explains how the demonstrations over a planned luxury resort have grown into general political discontent with Prime Minister Edi Rama
NEW: Revenue Estimating Conference (with DeSantis appointees and the state economist, etc) met today and adopted the fiscal impact of the soon-to-be Amendment 3 property tax cut proposal.
The cuts to local revenue—
$11.86 Billion.
Annually.
What's most infuriating about the Musk trillionaire shit is that his enterprise is built almost exclusively on gov contracts. It's not just that he's expropriating our wealth in an abstract way -- his fortune is built on the tax dollars we pay, that he then obtains through graft.
SpaceX IPO so perfect for right now. A company without profit, sold on a market detached from reality, based on fake promises about things it will never do. Layers and layers of bullshit.
Today, Elon Musk, a trillionaire, pays the same amount into Social Security as someone making $184,500.
If we end that absurdity and lift the cap on taxable income, we can make Social Security solvent for 75 years and expand benefits by $2,400. My Social Security bill does that.
📺 Telemundo TV commentator: "We are one of the only networks in the world to NOT show ads during the World Cup cooling breaks."
"We prefer the old school way. We should be able to see what the players do. We show fans, people enjoying, not the corporate direction of football."

Google's AI now scans your emails and attachments, bank statements, tax files, medical letters, all of it. It turned on by default, and there's a class-action lawsuit over how.

Local Boca Raton, FL post office was oddly closed last Saturday while all the other post offices were open. Clerk said they’re cutting all the postal workers. Just in Boca Raton alone they went from 188 clerks to 42. He said when he retires, they are not replacing him. So last Saturday, one person called out sick and another didn’t show up, so they just didnt open. Our wonderful government at work while pissing away our taxpayer money on performative, propagandist POTUS pissfests. Stop. Voting. Republican.
I love that someone said that. Everyone hates Boomers (understandably) but it is genuinely a problem that the “Great Transfer of Wealth” is not going to be to the children and grandchildren of Boomers.
Your parents/grandparents assets will be given to these healthcare companies
Taxpayers paid for over $38 billion in subsidies and government contracts for Space X, and Elon Musk gets to be a trillionaire off of our tax dollars.

Those who celebrate @elonmusk's $1 trillion fortune need to be reminded of a simple and vital truth:
That there is a fundamental tension between extreme wealth and the very possibility of democracy.
A new proposal in Ohio would let the state and utility companies take private property to build data center infrastructure.
The proposal from the powerful Ohio Business Roundtable would even let land be taken from people before the owner gets paid.
A document obtained by the Ohio Capital Journal shows the Ohio Business Roundtable recommending that lawmakers change eminent domain law so that it includes "infrastructure projects," a category broad enough to include data centers and projects that power them.
