In the past hour, the Trump admin has deleted their web page that recommended setting thermostats between 75-78 during heat waves, and 85 if you are not home, after the GOP learned that Mayor Mamdani was urging New Yorkers to follow White House guidance.
To George and Laura, Bill and Hillary — we're grateful for your friendship, counsel, and devotion to this country. And to Joe and Jill, thank you for being on this journey with us.
I am deeply grateful for the overwhelming support, encouragement, and kind messages I have received from people around the world. Your solidarity has reminded me that football unites us beyond borders. Thank you to everyone.

"Hope is that stubborn thing inside us that insists, despite all the evidence to the contrary, that something better awaits us so long as we have the courage to keep reaching, to keep working, to keep fighting." — President Obama
A book store in Kyoto had a cat. Not unusual, lots of bookstores have cats. But this cat had a job.
Every time someone came in, the cat would walk over, sniff them, then either go back to sleep or follow them around the store.
I watched this happen with like five different customers. Some got followed, some got ignored.
Asked the owner about it. He said "ah, cat knows who needs company and who needs solitude."
I said that's a pretty specific skill for a cat. He laughed. "I don't know if it is skill or instinct. But cats are never wrong."
He said people who get followed usually end up talking to the cat. "They pick the cat up, they pet the cat, they tell the cat about their problems. Cat listens."
People who get ignored usually browse quietly and leave. "They come here for peace. Cat knows this. Cats do not bother them."
I asked how he figured this out. He said "I didn't figure it out. I just noticed. A cat came to this store as a kitten 8 years ago. Stray. I let him stay. After a few weeks, I see a pattern. Cats have purpose here."
He said some customers come specifically to see if the cat will follow them. "They want to know: does the cat think I need company today? It is like fortune telling, but with a cat."
The cat walked over to me while we were talking. Sniffed my hand. Then jumped onto my lap and fell asleep.
The owner smiled. "Cat says you need company today. So you have company."
The cat was warm and heavy on my lap. I sat there for an hour, reading books, while the cat slept.
I felt better when I left.

What happened today in Montgomery was a disgrace. It was a complete circus that wasted time and your taxpayer dollars. The people in power made it clear they care more about politics than the people of Alabama.
Your vote is how we hold them accountable. Alabama deserves better.
