Man your takes have really gone downhill over the years, or this is lukewarm ragebait at best.
They paid for the flights of thousands of attendees from across the US for the SF startup school that literally just happened. They also had another one in Paris where they paid for people to come from across Europe.
It makes obvious sense for the third to be on a third continent to maximize the number of talented people that can attend given anybody in NC would have already come to the SF iteration.
@Deleonlangure@Zer0Lib@dhh Typical Linux distros pride themselves on being highly configurable. Arch is a prime example. This is the opposite of opinionated.
@dhh Have you heard about the creator of Asahi Linux quitting his own project because of the sheer amount of drama involved in upstreaming code to Linux? The culture needs a drastic shift asap.
@martin_casado@bot I’ve never had subscriptions bounce when replacing a credit card, either from expiration or having lost it.
CC companies have the “helpful feature” of allowing recurring transactions to still go through on your old card details.
@deedydas Was lucky enough to visit the original Gaggan in Bangkok in 2019 before it shut down during Covid. Still my favorite meal of all time even after visiting many of the World’s 50 Best list.
@din0s_@xeophon@paularambles Same here, but let’s be honest. If you had to conjure a person in your imagination who did this it would of course be a guy.
Geography has a significant affect on aspects of human life which is almost entirely unrelated to GDP. That means certain locations have certain structural advantages. Urban coastal areas lead to a healthier lifestyle that prevents obesity, while the rural lifestyle of most of America with large distances traveled daily requires cars to be overused.
The reality is that America is simply very underpopulated in most parts which directly leads to obesity in the knowledge-work area. Luckily, our high GDP has a solution for that — within a decade we should start seeing obesity rates eviscerated by GLP-1s.
@ConorMcCarter@Tamurphy Idk, having been in this kind of situation myself in the past (on both sides of the table actually) it doesn’t seem like a big deal to me. I think everyone involved understands it’s just a joke.
@dhh@bjcatar@levelsio Are you expecting to pair it with a desktop workstation? 16GB doesn’t seem like enough for running multiple agents in the background while doing knowledge work in the browser simultaneously.
