This is yet another request from the residents of 4 residential societies representing 125+ families in Tardeo.
We had raised the issue of the MS/steel road divider grill a long time ago. Residents have repeatedly requested that it be reviewed/removed because
I have already raised a grievance regarding this, but it was rejected. How is a citizen supposed to justify this situation when the road design, marking and actual traffic movement do not match each other?
traffic to pass.
This puts ordinary citizens in a very difficult situation:
Should we stop before the zebra crossing and block the road, or move forward when asked by traffic staff and then face a challan for crossing the zebra line?
I personally received a challan for not stopping before the zebra crossing. But when vehicles stop at the crossing, the road gets blocked and traffic movement is affected. On several occasions, Traffic Police/traffic staff have themselves asked vehicles to move forward to allow
school buses and school children use this route regularly.
The main problem is that when a car stops before the zebra crossing as required, the entire narrow lane gets blocked, affecting the continuous movement of school buses, society vehicles and other traffic.
I have marked the movement on the attached photo to explain the situation.
This is a very narrow lane, but a very large zebra crossing has been painted across it. The zebra crossing is also faded and not clearly visible. There is no proper school warning/sign board even though
I have attached today’s photos. The zebra crossing markings are almost completely faded and hardly visible. This is a busy road with a lot of pedestrian and vehicle movement.
Also, there seem to be two zebra crossings very close to each other at the same spot,
so that there is one clear and easily visible crossing without confusion.
This is a small thing, but it is important for pedestrian safety and smooth traffic movement.
Please request you to take action at the earliest. 🙏
Proper and clearly visible markings will help both the public and Traffic Police.
Requesting the concerned department to please check this location and repaint the zebra crossing properly and review the two markings,
which creates confusion for drivers about where exactly they should stop and for pedestrians about where they should cross.
Because the markings are not clear, motorists can also get confused and later receive a challan for not stopping at the zebra crossing.
Thank you to the concerned authorities for taking prompt action on the recent issue at Wadia Street, Tardeo. We truly appreciate it. 🙏
At the same time, I request you to kindly also look into our older request regarding the steel road divider installed near the society gate,
which is still creating serious problems for residents and daily traffic.
Many people coming from the building side take a wrong-side entry on bikes while turning left, which creates a dangerous situation, especially when vehicles are coming from the opposite direction.
Requesting the concerned authorities to please take necessary action at the earliest for the safety and convenience of everyone using Tardeo Main Circle.
A clear zebra crossing = safer pedestrians + clearer traffic movement. 🙏
This is a simple but important safety measure. Proper road markings help prevent accidents, reduce confusion and also avoid unnecessary disputes/challans.
I request the concerned department to please inspect the location and repaint/restore the zebra crossing markings properly and make them clearly visible, so that pedestrians are safe and motorists also know exactly where they are required to stop.
At the same time, motorists can also be issued challans for not stopping before the zebra crossing, even when the marking itself is barely visible. It is not reasonable to expect drivers to clearly follow a road marking that is not properly maintained or visible.
This creates confusion, especially at a busy junction with heavy traffic. Drivers may unintentionally cross or stop beyond the actual zebra crossing because the road markings are not clearly visible.
