Women have been leading change since time immemorial, holding communities together, defending rights, nurturing resistance and creating pathways.
Across Africa, women and movements are continuing this legacy by opening doors for girls, protecting rights and confronting growing backlash.
Yet, many of these movements operate with limited resources while facing increasing backlash.
Through #NoToBacklash, feminist funds are backing these grassroots leaders and first responders with lived realities to achieve solutions that work.
Support Women leading change, amplify their voices.

So much of the dysfunction we come from can be traced back to our colonial history. It’s not only about distorted family dynamics, but the resources that never add up, networks that do not stretch beyond our neighbors, & our potential thwarted by the lack of access to adequate ecosystems.
The AIDS movement showed that health equity requires:
1️⃣ Organised communities with power
2️⃣ Governments willing to act through law
3️⃣ Global solidarity
4️⃣ Recognition that health is a human right
And a critical lesson: health justice and democratic rights move together.

Imagine this: It’s the start of the school term. You have just enough money for one thing. A notebook… or pads. For millions of girls, that’s not hypothetical; it’s monthly.
A #PeriodFriendlyWorld means no one has to make that choice.
