The locals call it “ziwa.” Sadly, the water is full of algae, it smells bad, and cattle also drink and sometimes relieve themselves there.

No surprise then that stomach illnesses are said to be common in the area.

So when you see Kingi making noise online and posting nice photos, just remember, this is the same Kilifi he was governor of. Instead of fixing such problems, people allege he was busy globe trotting with his socialite.

I have seen so many people spreading the NIS narrative that if Ruto goes then what. This line of questioning is not innocent. It is designed to demobilize people and plant seeds of fear and hesitation. It attempts to confuse the public into believing that removing a bad leader is pointless. But that is not how change works and it is not how countries rebuild.

You are absolutely right to point out that Kenya’s problems did not begin with William Ruto and will not magically disappear the moment he leaves office. The rot began in the 1960s when we allowed power to concentrate in a few hands, destroyed checks and balances, and let corruption take root as part of the national culture. Every regime that followed simply inherited a broken foundation and kept building on it while pretending to lead reform. Today we are not fighting just a bad president. We are facing the consequences of six decades of institutional betrayal, public manipulation, and economic capture.

However, recognizing the depth of the problem is not a reason to retreat into hopelessness or to discourage action. In fact, it is the strongest reason to act more deliberately and more intelligently. The right conclusion is not that change is impossible, but that meaningful change requires more than just elections or swapping one political face for another. That is why the only serious way forward is through a Transition Council made up of credible, non-political Kenyans. This is not about replacing one thief with another. It is about resetting the country from the roots, not repainting the same house that is already on fire.

Let anyone thinking of taking over after Ruto be warned clearly. If they believe they will sit in that office and enjoy the same impunity and power games, they will be shocked. The presidency is no longer a place of comfort and unchecked power. It has become a trap for any leader who dares to ignore the voice of the people. What once looked like a throne is now a political landmine. Anyone who tries to step in and continue business as usual will find themselves removed even faster than the last occupant. The days of giving new governments a five-year honeymoon are over. From the very first day, the public will be watching with sharp eyes and zero tolerance.

Unless Kenya is reset through a proper transition process, nothing sustainable can be achieved. The next leader will simply inherit a poisoned machine. That is why we must go back to where things went wrong and build afresh.

The reset must begin with a full investigation of the odious debt that has enslaved this country to foreign interests. We must also recover stolen national assets, restructure our institutions, shrink the imperial presidency, and rewrite sections of the Constitution that have enabled authoritarianism to thrive. Kenya must go through its own version of political surgery.

Even if Jesus himself took over the country today, he would not last a week under the current system. The level of public frustration, hunger, debt pressure, and broken trust is so high that even the most righteous leader would be swallowed whole by the machinery.

That is not a joke but a warning about how unstable this country has become. Kenyans are not just impatient, they are traumatized and exhausted and they are done waiting for miracles.

Any leader stepping into that storm without a clear plan to fix the system will be removed, not because Kenyans are unruly, but because they are awake now.

Many Kenyans already understand this. They know that this moment is not about personalities or political tribes. It is about ending a national curse.

This is not a protest that will disappear after a few speeches or apologies. It is a long journey of national correction.

Even if it takes years, even if it faces setbacks, this path cannot be avoided anymore and this I have told you since last year.

The people have chosen to walk toward rebirth and when you look at Kenya, it is under what many countries in Europe went through and nobody can stop this journey even if you buy more and more people you can just delay days but the process starts revolving again as new entrants replace the bought ones.

The old system is collapsing. The only real question left is whether we will be brave enough to build something better before it buries us all.

To Kenyans watching the interview, former Chief Justice David Maraga comes across as a dull candidate, too calm and too restrained for the political theatre we’ve grown accustomed to.

A lot of us are tuned in, not to hear his policies, but hoping he’ll throw jabs, hurl insults, or make wild accusations, anything to spark some chaos.

Just for a second, we want Maraga to sound like Gachagua. But instead, he keeps circling back to the rule of law, promising order and constitutionalism.

And maybe that says more about us than him. We've grown so accustomed to loud politics and unruly leaders that we now crave drama over discipline.

We've normalised the circus, and now we miss it when it's not there.
