@timmmess@Top100Rick Read again.
Point was not to ban carry-ons, but to make them always cost extra so that only those who truly benefit from carry-on vs checked (such as you) would have carry-ons. That would dramatically reduce the amount of carry-ons and thus make boarding and deplaning smoother.
@KerbalNut@Matt_E_Baumann@TeslaCharging My guess is that it’s not about a missing hardware feature but how the mechanical construction is. In the older ones the charge port area might be weaker and doing a driveaway like this might damage the vehicle enough to become inoperable, rendering the whole feature moot.
@AlexGuichet Feature request for fall weather: wiper service mode from the app! Would be nice to be able to do pre-drive cleanup without going in the car first.
I was just there, saw the signs, asked Grok what is it about and decided to just keep to 100 km/h to avoid the hassle.
But indeed it is ridiculous that you need to have some damn sticker to prove that your fully electric vehicle is indeed electric.
The EU could actually do something here, to facilitate access to vehicle registries from different countries (to see what propulsion it uses).
But, bureaucracy for the win, always.
Great on a road trip when you want to look up something but need to continue driving and cannot start typing on the screen. Quality of answers vary based on the quality of the question, topic, pronounciation, network connectivity etc.. but generally already very helpful today.
I use it the most for simple navigation requests, but super handy also with explaining foreign traffic signs (you of course have to describe).
Counting the induction hop of wireless charging as AC feels wrong as a DC/DC converter also has one inside. Technically it of course is AC, just not ”from the wall” kind of AC.
But I get it from the point of what equipment is located within the vehicle. Wireless charging requires more than a DC plug does.
That’s a relevant question and completely different from the original. Perhaps something like using several different layers in series, each of which is tuned for a specific frequency and lets the rest pass through. But if that is possible, it could be done inside a single panel as well. From a purely mechanical/light guiding point of view I don’t think there are any magic bullets available.

Of course dependent on ISL capacity, but why wouldn’t they route traffic on the ISL grid so that the eventual ground station is the closest one to the ultimate endpoint?
Like if I would like to access a server in California from Europe, the data could traverse the Atlantic using ISL links and only exit the Starlink network through a ground station in California that would optimally be directly peering with the server’s hosting company. Instead of exiting Starlink through a European ground station and using international fiber backhaul on the bottom of the Atlantic.
And, if the endpoint is actually another Starlink user, the traffic would never need to go through a ground station. Just dish-satellite-ISLs-satellite-dish.
If your complaint is about the generic ”miles remaining in battery” indicator, that can only be accurate if your upcoming driving profile matches with whatever the average profile used to calculate that estimate is. If you do a different proportion of highway driving, if you have elevation difference, all that contributes to the estimate. When you navigate to a target, these factors become known and thus the estimate is far more accurate. Without destination information, it is only a guess.

Seuraavaksi voinee kysyä, että onko tämä vain peiteltyä valtion yritystukea?
Hydraulics can be a bit more efficient when driven with an electric motor. Also it’s more feasible to have a separate traction and tooling circuit with different characteristics / optimization points. So a combustion-driven hydraulic system and an electrically driven one might not have the same mechanical input power needs.
That said, your point still stands. A full day of battery capacity is too much to carry in some applications. For those, battery swapping could provide the answer today. Improved gravimetric energy density and charging speeds could be the answer tomorrow. But not every application needs to switch over right now. Better to start where it is technically and economically feasible today (road traffic and urban machinery, for example).
Pienet menee konkkaan. Kenen leipää lie nämä asiasta päättävät tällä kertaa ovat syöneet?
