@mikalazubbberr @psyc220 Couldn’t agree more! I think oppression and law enforcement is one of the more well-known relationships that’s we see every day, and although it’s a big problem I believe there are other instances out there that are just as important
@psyc220 #CD7 One big goal I have is to possibly pursue a job in government (FBI, CIA, etc.) or law enforcement. People in these roles witness, reinforce, and contribute to various forms of oppression against marginalized groups almost daily. Those in these jobs see their…
@milanohrjmu @psyc220 This is a great goal! I totally agree that there are unfair assumptions/stigmas out there and that there’s a lack of representation, and by working towards breaking them I think a lot of good will come out of it!
about them before doing the wrong thing and committing an act of oppression, to make the right choice(s) (even if it goes against what they were told/instructed to do), and reform so that people are more equal in all regards.
certain laws set forth by higher ups/country that can be interpreted in their favor, and various other reasons. To dismantle these ideas/systems of oppression, I believe that the ways to combat them is to hire more from these marginalized groups, to find out as much information..
@psyc220 #CD6 race and islamophobia can intersect and can be seen in the U.S. on a daily basis. Just like in the video, people that have a different skin color then white Americans tend to be looked at and treated differently regardless of whether they are American or not…
@vanpelsk @psyc220 I completely agree!! As someone who has experienced this firsthand it definitely is very upsetting. Just because people may look, act, or live different then Caucasians doesn’t mean they can be given less opportunities and a pay gap.
@DaphnePfoser @psyc220 I totally agree!! As someone who was born here but has a different skin color then some I have definitely felt this to some degree and can say that the opportunities given, although more then some but less then others, are things that definitely needed to be expanded upon for all
No matter how hard they try, even if their actions are exactly the same as white Americans they are still seen as different and aren’t given the same opportunities, which manifests a bigger marginalization between white Americans and minorities.
@JaclynPSYC220 @psyc220 I completely agree that this is expressing the ethic of autonomy because she’s arguing against these companies in regards to our privacy
@psyc220 #220Ethics I believe that this expresses the ethic of community because as a country (community) we are leading the way in climate change and to further help the world become a cleaner/healthier place.
.@SpeakerPelosi and these members of Congress are making it clear that the United States is back, and will continue to lead the way on climate change. We would not have met our Paris goals without them, and now they’re working to do even more.
@psyc220 #CD5a As a university, although equality is the goal there are barriers set in place for people with disabilities. These include a spread out (hilly) campus, ramps and elevators in select locations, parking can be a hassle, and the bus system tends to be overcrowded too.
