A grim detail from the Berezovskaya murder case: in court, Vladislav Reut said she was taken to a forest supposedly just to intimidate her because they feared she might reveal details of an alleged terrorist plot in Monaco. According to Reut, the second suspect, Vitaly Zhikovich, suddenly shot her in the back of the head and then fired several more shots.
The second suspect is not just any defendant. Zhikovich is a former law enforcement officer, and investigators had previously found a torture room in the basement linked to him. That alone tells you plenty about the kind of company involved here.
Reut told the court he was afraid for his own life and was following Zhikovich’s orders. After the killing, he said, they buried Berezovskaya’s body. Later, according to his testimony, Zhikovich dismantled the weapon and threw it into a body of water along with the phones and the victim’s personal belongings.
Reut now wants to make a deal with the investigation. His defense is asking the court to take into account his admission of guilt, his cooperation with investigators, and the fact that he pointed out the burial site of the body.
As for Zhikovich, he could face a harsher sentence if he refuses to admit guilt. Former law enforcement, a torture room in the basement, a body buried in the woods, a weapon dumped in water, and now a courtroom fight over who gets credit for “cooperating.” Same old story: everyone starts talking when the bill comes due.

This FBI’s investigation proved that John Bolton knowingly transmitted top secret information using personal online accounts and retained said documents in his house - all in direct violation of federal law.
Despite an onslaught of false claims by the fake news stating this case was ‘retribution,’ this investigation was based on meticulous work from dedicated professionals at the FBI who followed the facts without fear or favor - and Bolton chose to admit his guilt and pled guilty.
He is now a convicted felon for violating one of the most consequential trusts placed upon government officials.
