In the film *Kurbaan*, Kareena Kapoor plays the role of Avantika Ahuja. A man named Ehsaan (Taimur’s father) crosses her path, stalks her for a few days, and eventually wins her heart.

But the girl is undeterred; Ehsaan quits his job to help Avantika settle abroad, which makes her fall even deeper in love with him. They move overseas and settle down. Some time later, the truth is revealed: the romance was a sham.

Ehsaan is actually a terrorist who has merely used Avantika.
She ends up being held hostage. She is aided by a man named Riyaz Masood, whose wife had died in a plane crash.

It turns out that Ehsaan was the one who had orchestrated that very plane crash.

After so much bloodshed and terror, Ehsaan’s heart eventually softens, and the film attempts to portray him in a more sympathetic light.

Consider the title *Kurbaan* (Sacrifice)—it implies that a terrorist made a sacrifice to save the woman he loved.

If cinema is a mirror to society, then this particular mirror fails to show the true reflection. 😊
