Given how we describe something determines how we perceive them, Even if you feel that your mother tongue is getting your best self out, Isn't "I'm lucky to be a {language}-ian" a better usage?

I've had these points when I hear people argue about their language supremacy. Their arguments usually are about how old their language is and the different features of their language.

And I hear many of these " I'm proud to be a {language}-ian". How can someone be proud of something that's not in their hands? Our birth and mother tongue are not in our hands to be proud of the attributes we tend to inherit from that random event.
