A lot of people in this thread are saying: “Yeah, it’s cringeworthy, but what’s specifically wrong with this?”
@franklinleonard laid it out perfectly but there’s another question that needs to be asked.
Why are you reading this thread?
A thread.
the people dropped off in Martha's Vineyard had no one there to meet them because no one knew they were coming ... they walked 3 miles to a community center with no idea where they were.... sorry but I can't get over how cruel that is
@Belleofthebog @emmyripe@IcaRewitz@teachbk In my district, you can elect to be paid either on a 12 month or 10 month basis. Some who really need higher checks during the school yr (i.e. to pay for childcare) choose 10 month, which means no pay over the summer.
More people need to be talking about Jackson, Mississippi. The city ran out of bottled water to give residents yesterday. It’s the largest city in Mississippi. It’s 80% Black. Their water system is failing because of years of neglect. This is environmental racism.
@libradunn Outer space is super intriguing and my favorite thing about science, BUT I’m terrified of being stuck out there. At least in the ocean I’m still on 🌎 but there’s some terrifying creatures down there too. Idk, this is an impossible choice lol
The misconception that there is no sound in space originates because most space is a ~vacuum, providing no way for sound waves to travel. A galaxy cluster has so much gas that we've picked up actual sound. Here it's amplified, and mixed with other data, to hear a black hole!
@natsechobbyist This is an interesting thread. Some are taking this way too seriously. I literally just ignore people if I’m bothered. I assume they have a reason (broke phone, hearing issues, etc) and let it go. I’ve likely got more important things to think about anyway 🤷🏽♀️
#ohioteachers voted to strike & the school board is “disappointed”. Commit to FULLY fund schools, pay teachers significantly better, reduce class sizes. The guilt tripping of teachers needs to stop. Everywhere. #supportteachers that’s how to support #publiceducation
@JermaineJupiter I studied abroad there (in Sevilla) for a semester back in 2000. That was a long time ago, but it was amazing. Everyone was friendly, welcoming and I went to several cities. Everyone’s experience is different, but IMO it’s a great country to visit.
@shelbyn_23 I totally agree! The comments here are wild tho! Because we want a better quality of life, somehow that makes people lazy or complainers?! People can be so judgmental and can’t think outside themselves and their own experiences. Grow some empathy, jeez.
Webb’s first full-color images are now the world’s to enjoy! We hope you found them as meaningful and beautiful as we did. Here’s to many years of Webb science — we can’t wait to see what’s next as we continue to #UnfoldtheUniverse! https://t.co/deO8TFCkiz
