Check ur facts. As per Govt of India's own equivalence orders: Major ≈ DM/Collector, Colonel sits higher. An SHO (Inspector) is nowhere near a Major. Whatever the merits of the Kishtwar matter, the Warrant of Precedence isn't optional. 🙏

DC is way senior than a Colonel. In a district there are 10s of colonels but only one DC. Even an SHO is senior than a Major.

1/3 1/ Just returned from a Rishikesh trip. Have to flag the pathetic state of traffic management on the Delhi–Rishikesh corridor. long hours of traffic jams which can be easily handled with proper policing & state adm ..@uttarakhandcops @ukcmo this needs urgent attention.

2/3 While most travellers followed lane discipline, comm vehs, rafting operators, local taxi, UK-regd cars ,blatantly overtook & made 2nd lane, blocking opposite traffic & creating massive jams. Outskirt stretches near rafting points & bottlenecks had near-zero police presence.

• Dedicated police posts at rafting hubs along the highway
• Heavy fines for lane violators
• Display boards on highway against lane jumping
• Awareness campaign by Uttarakhand Police

On a request from state government authorities, an IAF Mi 17 V5 of Central Air Command (CAC) was deployed to rescue two stranded children, who were stuck on top of a water tank in Sidharth Nagar in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. The children were stranded in the night as the ladder of the water tank was damaged.
