@kprather88 Watched an elderly lady disinfect her shopping cart for at least 5 mins ..and then walk into a packed store maskless .. the messaging has failed. And continues to fail. Should we be washing and disinfecting ? Yes. Will it avoid airborne pathogens. No
I'm not sure how to best express this, but the pictures from Toronto pride really piss me off. It was not an inclusive or accessible event. It was a superspreader. The organizers ignored the risk of covid and many LGBTQ2S+ people, myself included, had to stay home as a result.
Interesting. Telehealth video appointment with son's new Psychiatrist today.
He asked if son had had covid. I said none of us (3) had. He was amazed and said "Really? You're so lucky!"
I replied, "Its not luck. Its taken alot of focus and some sacrifice".
Spotted: NASA mitigating the risk of airborne pathogen spread and the potential for long term health consequences caused by the infections from ruining their mission. 👏
Convincing the public that only the weak and unworthy are susceptible to Long Covid sure has made a lot of people reluctant to admit they have Long Covid.
Funny, that.
Yes we need more of a strategy than keeping the info from the general public and acting like it’s rare. Every infection increases our chances of developing long term illness.

Just a reminder. Even CDC, the most Covid-minimizing public health group, reluctantly admits approximately 1 in 5 adults now have a health condition caused by previous Covid.
That's after only 3 years.
I love the argument that wearing a respirator at this point is a “virtue signal”, as if the general perception of maskers at a societal level right now is virtuous lol
Cardiologist: "I'd love to say... we can think of COVID more so like the common cold. Unfortunately, that is not the case. ...
It is not even just like the flu. ... This virus is still very different from any other virus we have seen in our lifetime."

Well, it finally happened. Someone in my family is having cardio problems after repeatedly and recklessly exposing themsleves to covid ever since the mask mandates ended in the U.S.
Fox News hosted an entire 5 person "expert" round table on my decision as a medically vulnerable person to wear a mask at the airport. I'm laughing so hard
The "move on" narrative is always popular with western elites after they've fucked things up and killed a load of people and want to make you sound like the neurotic one for demanding justice- see in particular the Iraq war
I would wear a high quality #mask in a crowed airport.
WHY?
1. @CDCgov#COVID19 positivity rate in airports seem to be hovering around 20% (much higher than baseline community positivity rates reported)
