Interested to see how Wemby’s presence gradually affects the finishing ability of this next generation of players, smaller guards in particular.
Feel like we’re going to see a new degree of creativity in layup packages, floaters etc in response to his defensive impact.
@spgauthor@SebC__ very interesting, will give it a read! Figured there was some bias given Netflix's heavy usage of Donaghy but had no idea the extent of it.
@SebC__ It’s incredible, his Netflix special was halfway decent too. I assume you’re familiar with his participation in the 2002 Lakers Kings Western Conference Finals?
@thfcElPresident I hear that man, life just continues to get in the way. I’ve come around to having precise knowledge over a region / nation > approximate knowledge of the footballing world, at least professionally speaking
@thfcElPresident don’t fret brother, three of the four are Americans playing the MLS & aren’t really that well known. Banks plays for Augsburg and only broke out recently.
@User7460589 oh believe me, there’s plenty of MLS bums involved.
In the case of Banks, I do think we’ve tried to call him up a few times, but he’s (smartly) declined. Considering he basically turned down this WC, I fear he’ll eventually choose Germany if he can.
@thfcmikkel yep, the 9 market is lacking a standout name at the minute. Osimhen, of course, would be excellent, I just don't see us putting up the required money.
A lot to like here.
The backwards bounce pass to spinning off in behind actions are very RDZ. Love the consistent intent to take on his FB with two-way threat, though he very clearly prefers the outside. Has stop-start athleticism but is still learning how to best use it.
@thfcmikkel by no means is he perfect, but I think there are enough pros to justify the reported price of ~45m.
Covers both sides, raises our technical floor, has inside / outside threat, and would be our best crosser on the LHS (bar Maddison)
will never understand the Xavi hate. Extremely talented footballer who lives & breathes this club, going out of his way to pitch us as a destination despite everything that he endured this year.
xavi has been in savinho’s ear ever since the move failed last summer btw. this guy loves the club and wants us to succeed so much. you must know this.
