@seaneensullivan It’s constant traffic and parked cars littered all over the place now, like the good old days. It’s genuinely horrible - after weeks of being so peaceful and quiet. It’s breaking my heart to see the city ruined again, knowing how fabulous it can be 😞
@dublincycling@noc146 What will 2020 bring us next. “Cycling activists drive and park cars to promote cycling” 🤯 (that said - I like the idea of functioning like a super-clamper - no quick escape by simply paying a fine)
@gingermarauder @meenalsworld @UncalmItalian Bare below the elbow is the policy for covid management? Guess when you’re so low in PPE you’re giving staff out of date products to use, one way to look less bad would be to just make up policies for covid management that ignore all international best practices evidence.
@DCCTraffic@DubCityCouncil they’re at it again in Stoneybatter. Can you please make these wands into bollards for everyone’s safety? The beautiful planter clearly hasn’t deterred some ignorant selfish drivers
While the rest of the world wrings their hands over bike safety, the Dutch are quietly—and quite happily—living their lives on two wheels.
They are undeniable proof that cycling itself isn’t a dangerous activity; it’s the car-first street design that often makes it so.
@aideenblackwood I saw a man a few weeks ago on Prussia St with his N95 on *top* of his head. Because hair-Covid is obvs the worst form of Covid. (Also at a time when the N95 masks were so scarce in work that they were being reserved exclusively for anaesthetists performing intubations in ICU😞)
Never let decision-makers forget — people walking, bike-riding & taking public transport spend 40% more than motorists each month in local shops (@TFL research). Supporting non-motorists, among MANY benefits, is good for business. Via @carltonreid https://t.co/8sI3FK2o66
@BTriagain @annmcnam @polly_donnellan Jesus would you give her a break. Where do you suppose a child goes if a shop won’t allow a single mother to bring the child along? Leave the child at home alone? Ask for help from its elderly grandparents (if that’s even an option) who’re high risk if they catch COVID? Seriously
@adriancummins@Platform61@Failte_Ireland A significant issue here is that many wont feel comfortable going to restaurants without 2m distancing (I’ve so far only spoken to 1 person who would consider it). Have you considered surveys to see if 1m is acceptable to public before lobbying to downgrade public health advice?
@feline_charm Having read your linked article... If sex is binary & unchangeable, & XY chromosomes = “paid more raped less” - how do you explain the extremely high rates of rape/sexual assault experienced by transwomen? Or explain the 1 in 50 who are intersex? Or this: https://t.co/BNbXBfh3QX
@john003@rtenews The incubation period is 5-6days and can be 2 weeks. Which means there’s a 1.5-2 week (or more) delay before any increase in reproductive rate can be detected following an event. It is not possible for the current increase to be related to the protests last weekend.
@DubCham A fantastic plan - provides huge safety benefits to pedestrians who often have no choice other than to walk on the road in order to social distance (we need wider paths too). Enforcement needed with strict penalties, otherwise it will likely be ignored by a majority of drivers.
It is especially important to once again remind you all that AVOCA and chopped are owned by Aramark, who treat people in direct provision like actual dirt. They don’t feed people delicious buns or fresh tasty salads. Toilet roll is a luxury. You simply should not support them.

@RachelAda25@JanetPHorner The very one! Just up the road from the anti-choicers doing decades of the rosary with the enormous statue of Mary while simultaneously giving out to a child because he wanted to play with the pro choice dog. Quite the rollercoaster.
