Most people have never built something from nothing.
So they don’t understand how hard it is.
They just see the end results and want some of it.
We need to encourage more builders, more zero to one.
Just so more people can fail and appreciate what it takes to win.
This was very inspiring to me because it showed how much of a difference 1 person can make. Walt was special, but this isnt anything we cant bring into our lives/businesses too
Its the people behind everything that he convinced as investors, animators, employees, partners to buy into his vision of making his visions come to life.
It was his secret weapon.
He had a mission to make heart warming entertainment that inspires.
The one thing that is clear is he was gifted with the talent of knowing what was going to make people feel good.
Obviously the cartoons, movies, and parks are clear representations of that, but its deeper
I think it lies in this quote by Walt
"You can dream, create, design and build the most wonderful place in the world, but it requires people to make the dream a reality."
At first learning about his journey, I thought Steamboat Mickey could of been luck striking, but after understanding his whole story its really clear it was something way deeper than luck.
So what was the secret?
He was on a roll creating hit movie after hit movie but wanted to diversify.
So he went into an industry overlooked and dismissed for being dirty, amusement parks.
He created Disneyland and eventually Disney World…
But why was it so successful? Way more than previous parks
Critics were skeptical with it being the first 1.5 hour cartoon, but it had groundbreaking technology, incredible sound design, beautiful animation and ended up as an incredible $8m success!
But none of the new technology is why it worked.
Mickey wasn’t necessarily better animated than other cartoons.
BUT he was more lovable. He had personality. He made you feel something.
That’s what changed everything.
Walt then took a massive $1.5 million gamble on Snow White
In high school his drawings were average. His first studio went bankrupt. Nothing about his early career said “generational genius.”
Then he created Steamboat Mickey (Mickey Mouse).
There are only 6 things that make an expert marketer:
Capture someone’s attention
Make them feel an emotion
Connect it to your brand
Give a no brainer offer
Do it consistently
Do it at scale
We will have A LOT more businesses.
But if you define a software engineer by someone that knows cs, we will have A LOT less of them.
Software will be so easy to make, but non engineers will never understand it (which is the core to being an engineer).
Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev's hot take about jobs in the AI era:
"There will be more software engineers in 10 years than there are today, and there will be more lawyers."
"It's going to become much easier to start a venture and run it autonomously."
"You'll be a software engineer, de facto. You've got your Claude Code agents writing code for you."
"There will be more businesses."
"The need for the legal profession actually scales with business activity."
"If you have a million businesses incremental per year, each of those is going to need legal support."

AI has raised the bar for software so much.
Even the airline apps feel smooth and intuitive now.
I used to hate them before, now they just feel buttery.
Has anyone else noticed this?
@zuess05 Your content strategy is going depend on your idea, not the execution of it (Web app/iOS/Desktop)
Im creating a web app because it makes the most sense as the first step to what im building.
What is the idea you are thinking of building?
@RealProductGirl I made a production ready site on Repit within 4 weeks, then brought it over to Claude Code to restructure the architecture.
It worked shockingly well.
This is the working site! https://t.co/9Rb71ZI4dD
