@iveytron I think it’s one of the few films that really manages to capture the feeling of the book. It’s a much better adaptation than The Martian was, IMHO. The film focuses more on Grace’s emotional journey and most of what is missing or truncated is science stuff.

@SandyofCthulhu Agree. As a DM, I’ve fumbled puzzles and mystery scenarios. Eventually I learned to give the party a crack and if they need a hint, call for a skill check. Failed the skill check? Who else is helping this character search? And so on. Create opportunities for the party to advance

@SandyofCthulhu Hawks’ Thing is a must see. For bonus points, try to track down the DVD special edition with a commentary by John Carpenter. It was released in the UK and perhaps some other territories as well. Fascinating insight.
