“Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.”

'We need to flip the script and recognise that rehabilitation is as important as medicine and surgery' - @ashjamesphysio
BBC story illustrates how urgently we need to invest in rehab services and the physio workforce.
Everyone has a #RightToRehab

It’s not just doctors… physiotherapists have had therapy space taken away, left with alternatives that are not fit for purpose. Overstretched inpatient therapy services can’t provide the quality rehabilitation we want to, and are trained to deliver, due to a lack of resources.
Falls awareness week. We games on the ward to promote upper limb Rom and strengthening. Patients were timed for 1mins to see how many times they can throw the ball through the hoop. Also timed for how many sit to stands in 1mins.

Hook - Palliative care is not about giving up on life. It's about living life to the fullest until the very end. Let's break down some common misconceptions about palliative care. 🧵👇
1/ Misconception: Palliative care is only for the dying.
Reality: Regardless of life expectancy, palliative care can help anyone with a serious illness. It focuses on improving quality of life, managing symptoms, and providing emotional support.
2/ Misconception: Palliative care means stopping all other treatments.
Reality: Palliative care can be given alongside curative treatments. It's about providing holistic care that addresses all aspects of a patient's well-being, including physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
3/ Misconception: Palliative care is only for the elderly.
Reality: Palliative care is for anyone with a serious illness, regardless of age. It can be helpful for young adults, children, and anyone facing a life-limiting illness.
4/ Misconception: Palliative care is depressing.
Reality: Palliative care can actually improve a patient's mood and overall well-being. It provides support and comfort during difficult times and helps patients live life as fully as possible.
Let's spread the word about the importance of palliative care and bust these myths. 💪
4k @thecsp physiotherapists are striking today. They were there during Covid drafted onto ICU wards to prone patients. They ensure people recover faster and get back to their life sooner. They keep patients out of hospital. People like me don't write nearly enough about them.
Due to the Covid restrictions in 2021, Australian farmer Ben Jackson couldn’t attend his aunt’s funeral. So he laid grain for his sheep to gather around in the shape of a ♥️ so she could see it from heaven. Love and humanity will never ever be restricted.
As an acute NHS physio, this article acutely highlights the challenges we face. Less space, less staff and less time = disenchanted workforce https://t.co/P57VCcEtTW
We lead by example. Drs & Nurses would strongly advise against handing out your own drugs to friends & family. Most have seen A&E admissions, addiction and worse due to this. Very open to more professionals trained to prescribe. Atm we need leaders fit to govern.

When Paddington Bear takes tea with the Queen. Exquisite. One to watch on repeat (and finally after 70 years we find what the Queen keeps in her handbag…)

Most British people have never known another monarch, so she’s been a thread winding through all our lives. She did her duty by the country right up until her dying hours, and became an enduring, positive symbol of Britain all over the world. She’s earned her rest. #TheQueen
